How to Get Ursaluna in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Learn how to get yourself an Ursaluna in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus has introduced a handful of new evolved forms for existing Pokemon, with one such example being Ursaluna, a new form of Ursaring. Or, since the game takes place in the distant past, they’d be old evolved forms which, more than likely, have gone extinct in the present day. That’s depressing, but as a traveler from the future, you can contribute to their propagation! Here’s how to get Ursaluna in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

You’ll likely first encounter an Ursaluna as part of the game’s story, as one is a guardian Pokemon in the Crimson Mirelands that you can ride atop to dig up buried items. You can’t catch this Ursaluna, but you can raise one of your own from scratch. The first step to this, of course, is catching either an Ursaring or a Teddiursa. Both of these Pokemon have a preferred home in the Crimson Mirelands aptly named Ursa’s Ring. If you choose to start from Teddiursa, you’ll need to get it up to level 30 to evolve it into Ursaring.

To get Ursaluna in Pokemon Legends Arceus

  1. Catch a Teddiursa or Ursaring at Ursa’s Ring in the Crimson Mirelands
  2. Obtain a Peat Block either by digging one up with your riding Ursaluna, smashing shaking ore deposits, or by completing the Request “Gone Astray… In the Icelands.”
  3. Wait for a full moon to rise at night, then use the Peat Block on Ursaring to evolve it into Ursaluna

Where to Find Teddiursa or Ursaring

Teddiursa or Ursaring can be found at Ursa’s Ring in the Crimson Mirelands. The area is located in the south of the region. Travel to Mirelands camp and head due south to get there.

How to Get a Peat Block in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Once you’ve got your Ursaring, the next step is acquiring its special evolutionary item, the Peat Block. It’s some kind of muddy block that, presumably, bestows Ursaluna with its Ground typing. There are a few ways to get a Peat Block, and you can start looking as soon as you first visit the Crimson Mirelands.

Peat Blocks have a low chance of popping out whenever you smash an ore deposit with your Pokemon, specifically the ones that shake around and spit out a Geodude when you smash them. If that doesn’t pan out, then after you enlist the aid of the guardian Ursaluna during the storyline, you can use its natural abilities to dig Peat Blocks out of the ground. Just follow its nose radar and press Y when it finds something; if you’re lucky, it’ll be a Peat Block.

Unfortunately, in both of these cases, whether you get a Peat Block or not is down to probability, so it may take a while. If you don’t mind waiting until later in the game, you’ll receive a quest to track down a missing person in the Alabaster Icelands titled “Gone Astray… in the Icelands” which will reward a Peat Block upon completion.

Wait for a Full Moon

Once you’ve got the Peat Block and the Ursaring in your party, all you need to do is wait for a full moon. The easiest way to do this is to go to any overworld area and sleep at a base camp until nightfall. If you wait a minute after waking up, the moon will appear in the sky, and if it’s full, you can use the Peat Block on Ursaring to trigger its evolution into Ursaluna. If the moon isn’t full, return to Jubilife Village to reset the world, go back out into the field, and rest until nightfall again. Keep doing this until you get a full moon, and you’ll get your Ursaluna in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
