You ever take a look at a Pokemon and immediately think to yourself, “yep, I wanna hug that?” Buneary and its evolved form Lopunny are those kinds of Pokemon, with their cute faces and unbelievably fluffy ears. Though, apparently Buneary and Lopunny have insane strength in their ears and legs, respectively, so make sure to approach carefully if you’re going in for a hug. If you’re prepared for that risk, then here’s how to evolve Buneary into Lopunny in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Unlike most Pokemon, who evolve into higher forms upon crossing a particular level threshold, Buneary’s evolution into Lopunny is entirely dependent on its Friendship level, an invisible stat that determines how much it likes its trainer, i.e. you. When a Buneary likes you enough, you’ll get a notification informing you that it’s eligible for evolution, at which point you can start the evolution from your menu at your leisure.
How to Evolve Buneary into Lopunny in Pokemon Legends Arceus
To raise Buneary’s Friendship in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
- Have it win battles without fainting
- Restore its health with Potions and berries
- Feed it EXP Candy
- Send it out to gather resources
To raise a Buneary’s Friendship level, the best thing you can do is just use it a lot. If you use your Buneary in battle, either against a wild Pokemon or a trainer, and you win without letting it faint, that’s a big Friendship boost right there. Your Buneary will also appreciate it if you keep it in tip-top health by using Potions on it and feeding it berries.
If you’ve got any EXP Candies, usually earned from completing requests, it’ll love those. Even outside of battle, you can also build some Friendship here and there by sending your Buneary out to gather resources like berries from trees and minerals from deposits.
If you’d like to know how your Buneary feels about you, go talk to Belamy in Jubilife Village. He’s the guy with glasses and a dark blue outfit usually hanging out outside the southern side of the Pasture’s fence.
Where to find Buneary in Pokemon Legends Arceus
Buneary can be found in The Heartwood area of the Obsidian Fieldlands. You can generally find them hanging out around the tall grass by the stream. Catch them as you would any other Pokemon, either through a sneaky back strike or by widdling down their HP and tossing a Poke Ball at them.
If you are looking to build your collection of Alpha Pokemon with a Buneary, you can follow the water down all the way southwest to the very bottom corner of the Obsidian Highlands. That’s where you can spot an Alpha Buneary, in case you prefer your Buneary to be gigantic.
