The Iron Oath is a squad-based strategy game in which players form parties of different characters and put them into combat. The characters are divided into classes, and each class defines a character’s battle ability and role on the battlefield. Each class has unique abilities, and classes can work together against enemies.

The Iron Oath Classes
In the current game build, players can use six different classes. You can build your ideal battle squad by using the Pyrolancer, the Guardian, the Pugilist, the Stormcaller, the Huntress, and the Valkyrie. Each of these classes has its own strengths and weaknesses, and it’s up to you to find a combination that is optimal for your play style. Your squad consists of four members, so you have to choose your units carefully to have a balanced squad.
Classes Overview
There are three unit types in this game: Tank, Support, and Striker. Every class in the game fits at least one of those roles. Tanks have great strength and constitution, so they can fight in front and protect the weaker members by averting attacks on themselves. Support units help the squad by healing but also boosting some stats. Strikers are damage-dealing units, and they have some tools that will amp up the damage output. A balanced squad would have one tank, at least one support, and one or two strikers.
Pyrolancer
The Pyrolancer is a melee attacker class that uses fire to boost his attacks. Pyrolancer mostly fits in the Striker group because of his fire-based buffs. Pyrolancers really love fire, so they boost their attacks by setting the ground or enemies ablaze. Pyrolancer specializes in Burn attacks, which, guess what, burns enemies.
Guardian
Guardians are a very versatile class, offering a great number of useful abilities. They are the ultimate support class, with their inclination to heal, debuff, and clean statuses. They can even get into combat if needed. Thanks to their high Conviction stat, they are solid tanks, but they cannot match Valkyries. You should always have a slot for a Guardian in your team.
Pugilist
Pugilist is a class that likes to do things close and personal. They can move fast and avoid strikes, which makes them ideal for flanks. This makes Pugilist a Striker class, but they can also have an area of effective healing and cleansing abilities. Their Battle Instinct ability allows for huge damage. However, at range, they are almost helpless.
Stormcaller
If The Iron Oath were an X-Men game, the Stormcaller would be, obviously, Storm. This class uses weather to deal damage to opposing forces. Of course, Stormcallers are not particularly good for the front lines, so make sure you protect them from the attacks. This unit can control your Morale, and they have very useful areas of effect healing and single target damage.
Huntress
The Huntress is a class that likes to deal physical damage up close and personal. Furthermore, she deals more damage the closer she is to the enemy. It’s up to you to find a balance between safety and damage dealing. She has more health than Stormcaller, but not enough to be at the front lines. Also, some of her attacks rely on luck for maximum output.
Valkyrie
Valkyrie class is the primary choice for the squad Tank. Their high Conviction gives them a lot of defense properties, but unlike Guardians, they have the ability to taunt and reduce damage. They can also move in various ways to place themselves and their allies in the right spot. The only downside of the Valkyrie class is the lack of ranged offensive options.
