After being in early access for almost three years, Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally reached its 1.0 launch. Taking place in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, you’re sent on a journey to understand the new power you’re infected with. Larian Studios has meticulously crafted a world that feels like it’s been ripped straight off a tabletop game. The game will throw a myriad of puzzles, challenges, and obstacles along your path. Some of these obstacles can be deadly and require parties to dispose of them before it’s too late. Let’s gather our party and figure out how to disarm traps in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Disarm Traps Baldur’s Gate 3
Traps can prove to be a massive problem if you find yourself in close proximity to it. They will cause an unexpected result to happen, dealing damage to those who are caught within it. These can range from a simple oil and fire trap, to traps that cause status ailments and even death. You can also teach certain classes the Find Traps spell to scan a room. This won’t give you the exact location, but it will let you know if there are any traps withing a certain distance from you.

In order to disarm traps in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need to be in possession of a Trap Disarm Toolkit. These work just like a lockpick, except it’ll require your character to go through a sleight-of-hand check. If you succeed, you’ll keep your toolkit and rid your party of impending doom. Failure on the other hand, will take the toolkit from you, and cause the trap to immediately go off. For this reason, make sure you don’t have too many of your party members grouped up when disarming a trap. You never know when your luck will run out.
