While we have touched on our predictions for the official Rookie Ratings and Team Ratings, this article will cover who we think will be given a 99-overall rating in Madden 22.

Getting the chance to play with new rookies like Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields is tempting, as is taking control of a loaded roster like those in Tampa Bay or Kansas City. But now it’s time to take a look at the best players in Madden 22’s “99-Club”.

“99-Club” Predictions for Madden 22

Who will be the 99-rated players in Madden is always a mystery, but we can already assume that a few faces will make the cut in Madden 22.

Last year, Madden 21 had a record-high six players part of their “99-Club”, including two defensive players and four offensive players. And we believe Madden will up this yet again, and so these are the players we think will be rewarded with a 99 overall.

  1. Patrick Mahomes – Mahomes is the current and future face of the NFL. Coming off his 2nd trip to the Super Bowl in just his 3rd year as a starter, Mahomes remains an all-time talent. We’d be shocked if he wasn’t a member of the “99-Club” in Madden 22.
  2. Tom Brady – Brady came out of Madden 21 with a rating of 96, and after clinching his 7th Super Bowl ring, throwing for 4633 yards (3rd in NFL), and 40 touchdowns (T-2nd in NFL) in 2020. It would be criminal if EA did not reward the “GOAT” with a 99-overall.
  3. Aaron Rodgers – Coming off of a spectacular MVP season, and being that the Packers’Packers’ QB carried a 95 rating in Madden 21, Rodgers should be rewarded with a 99-overall in Madden 22 (assuming he returns to the Packers before the start of the season). While much of this will depend on his return to the team, he is more than deserving of a 99-overall.
  4. Aaron Donald – Donald is a perennial 99-overall player and one of the best defenders the NFL has ever seen. Plus, he’s coming off a season in which he had 13.5 sacks and more than 44 tackles, so we should see Donald remain a member of the “99-Club” once again.
  5. Derrick Henry – Henry rushed for more than 2000 yards in 2020, cementing his place as the league’s top running back. However, running backs are typically less likely to earn super-high ratings in Madden, but the Titans lead-back is more than worthy of the honor.
  6. Travis Kelce – Kelce is easily one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game, and coming off a season in which he put up over 1400 yards and 11 touchdowns on 105 receptions. Kelce doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, so don’t be shocked to see him return to the “99-Club” once again.
  7. Stefon Diggs – Diggs was given a respectable rating of 97 in Madden 21, and had he not gone OFF in 2020, there wouldn’t be much of an argument to improve this rating. However, Diggs proved to the world that he’s one of the league’s premium receivers, leading the NFL in both total receptions (127), and total yards (1535). So, EA would be wise to give Stefon Diggs his due.
  8. DeAndre Hopkins – D-Hop saw immense success in his 1st season with Arizona, landing himself 3rd in the league in yards (1407), and 2nd in total receptions (115). While he may not make the cut due to the impressive performances from other receivers on this list, there isn’t much to knock him on. So, there’s really no reason to think he won’t carry a 99-overall once again.
  9. Davante Adams – Davante Adams may be the new heart and soul of the Green Bay Packers, with the young receiver coming off a career year and the team’s franchise QB vacationing in Hawaii. Adams is an elite receiver, as illustrated by his league-leading 18 touchdowns, 115 receptions (T-2nd in NFL), and 1374 yards (T-5th in NFL) in 2020. While much of his success does depend on Aaron Rodgers, we’d be shocked if Adams was removed from Madden’sMadden’s “99-Club.”

While it’s unlikely that we see Madden pick athletes to be a part of the “99-Club,” all of the players mentioned above more than deserve the rating. Don’t be shocked if we see EA release even more 99-rated superstars in Madden 22.
