How to Use the Voodoo Doll in Demonologist

Shot through the heart and you're to blame

Strike the demon through the heart if you are feeling brave enough. Bound the entity’s body directly to the Voodoo Doll, granting you the control of its body. These hostile abominations do not deserve body autonomy after all. But beware of this use as punishment is just around the corner. Do not get too excited for those thrills can easily turn to shrills, with the entity striking you in return for the use of your twisted magic. Care is crucial when the Doll enters your hand. Be sure to pray to all of the Gods you believe and do not believe in for the safety of your soul. A Crucifix may be needed to ward off any provoked attacks. Can we say that the entity acted in self defence with this one? After all, you did provoke them. This is our guide on how to use the Voodoo Doll in Demonologist.

The Purpose of the Voodoo Doll

The Voodoo Doll is the latest Tool added into Demonologist as part of its latest 0.2.0 Version. However its use is unlike other equipment in the game, with similarities of the Tarot Cards and Ouija Boards. The Voodoo Doll can greatly increase your chances of initiating a Hunt. The question is, why would a player want to do this? Well, whilst it can be a great source of trolling your friends, the Voodoo Doll should never be used if you are trying to either identify the entity type or perform an exorcism. In the case of someone using this new Tool, players should not expect the Doll to help you during your match. In fact, the Doll will do the opposite, similar to the high risk, low reward system of the Tarot Cards.

There are only a few times a Voodoo Doll should be used in Demonologist. The first is if you are struggling to locate the whereabouts of the entity. This will allows you to interact with the Doll to hear the audible reaction from the entity. You will be able to note how close or far away the entity is from you. This acts similar to the Ouija Board, although the use of either can end in a Hunt. You can also use this to fast-track the hauntings, meaning that you will see increased activity from the entity as a form of retaliation and this can help you identify the entity type quicker.

How to Use the Voodoo Doll in Demonologist

The Voodoo Doll can be purchased in the Shop as part of your Loadout and brought with you into a match. You need to equip the Doll like any other Tool in Demonologist. With this in your right hand all you need to do is left-click on the mouse to interact with the Voodoo Doll. What this does is insert one of the many nails pierced into the Doll, further into its body. You will need to click every time to insert a new nail into the Doll. This then results in the entity to react highly negatively as the Doll is linked to the entity itself. It appears that the Voodoo Doll can be used up until its final nail. Although its use may be randomized, therefore players should not risk pushing too many nails into the Doll at once as this will likely result in a Hunt.

For those wanting to use the Doll, be sure to only use it when absolutely necessary and at your own risk. You should not attempt to push too many nails in one after the others, regardless of leaving multiple nails outside of the Doll. If you do decide to bring a Voodoo Doll with you, make sure that you are regularly leaving the setting and into the HQ for breaks away from the aggravated entity and you should definitely bring a Crucifix with you in case of a Hunt.
