I have always been a fan of murder mystery games, ever since the release of Clue or people hosting murder parties. There’s just something about solving a mystery that has always captivated me. If you combine those elements with a furry hedgehog and a visual novel, I’m sold.
As an April Fool’s joke the game The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog was released. You can play as a character trying to figure out who murdered the beloved hedgehog. Amy, one of the characters from the franchise, is hosting a birthday party and it’s up to you and Tails to solve the mystery. Here’s who the killer was in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Who killed Sonic the Hedgehog?
If you’re a fan of visual novel games and murder mysteries you’re going to want to play this game by Sega. Join the cast from the beloved Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and uncover clues you can use to interrogate other delightful cast members. You’ll come across characters such as Shadow, Knuckles, Amy, and plenty more characters. Immerse yourself in a game all taking place on a train known as the Mirage Express. The train comes to a jolting stop and as you’re going through the story you find out that Sonic the Hedgehog has been murdered! Who killed the hedgehog?
As I was playing through the game I honestly thought Rogue or someone like Shadow was going to be the main culprit. I even thought Amy was up to no good because of her status as a journalist. With Tails as a detective, they couldn’t be the suspect, right? No.
Playing through the game I found out that a favorite of mine, Espio, was the one who “murdered” Sonic. He used nefarious tactics by using a blowdart. There’s more to this story than meets the eye. The blow dart didn’t actually kill our favorite hedgehog but put him to sleep.
What is the ending in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog?
According to Espio, the reason for the “death” all has to do with the nefarious Doctor Eggman – the main antagonist in the Sonic franchise. Eggman decided this was the perfect opportunity to take out his nemesis by setting a bounty. The real villain in this whole thing? The train itself, which is robotic and gave Epsio the blow dart.
Doctor Eggman created the train. The group is all transported to the base of Eggman, and thankfully, Sonic recovers and is able to attack and destroy the corrupted train. The mystery has been solved, and the group celebrates by buying a tasty cake in order to celebrate Amy’s birthday. So no, it appears that Sonic wasn’t actually murdered, and he manages to save the day!
