How to Bury Spider Heads in Hogwarts Legacy

Arachnophobes unite and face your fears

As Arachnophobia is one of the most, if not the most common fear for Humans, the thought of reliving the Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets scene over and over in Hogwarts Legacy is a terrifying one. But wizards should not worry themselves in this game, for you will have the ability to bury their heads in the sand rather than your own. In Hogwarts Legacy, the only thing to fear here, is you. For those wondering how to complete the ‘Bury a Spider Head in the Ground’ for the Dueling Feats, this guide will show you exactly how to perform this action.

Do You Need to Bury Spider Heads into the Ground?

The process of burying Spider Heads into the ground is a specific Challenge of the Dueling Feats. This specific Challenge can only be completed on the largest Spiders in the game, as the Bosses: Thornback Matriarch, Venomous Matriarch, Acromantula, Insatiable Spider or Absconder. These Spiders appear as Bosses in their particular locations across Hogwarts Regions. You can find these Spiders primarily in Spider Lairs, Battle Arenas, or specific Quests. Such as ‘Tangled Web’ or ‘Absconder Encounter’. You should aim to fight Acromantula within the North Ford Bog Spider Lairs as you should have little to no problem facing this giant Spider to complete the Challenge.

How to Bury Spider Heads in Hogwarts Legacy

When face to face with the Spider of your choosing, players need to utilize two specific spells in order to successfully bury its head into the ground beneath. You need both Arresto Momentum and Descendo. The timing of using Arresto Momentum is critical however. Players need to wait until the Spider stands on its back legs, rearing up towards its attacking position. This is a common stance that real spiders will take when they feel threatened. It is the key move to look out for as this indicates that the arachnid is going to attack. As soon as the Spider lifts, execute Arresto Momentum to freeze it in its tracks. You must then immediately use Descendo which will send the Spider’s Head straight into the ground beneath.

Alternatively, if you cannot get the timing right, use Descendo on its own when you see the Spider stomping its legs on the ground. It will often do this when you are further away from it. The spell will work here to slam the Spider’s Head into the ground if the previous method did not work. Once successfully completed, with its head in the ground, you will tick off this Challenge Objective for the species of Spider you slammed into the ground.

That was our guide on how to successfully bury a Spider’s Head into the ground in Hogwarts Legacy. By completing this you will have successfully ticked off this Dueling Feats Challenge.
