New game, new issues. I mean, name a game that hasn’t experienced any problems regarding glitches, bugs, or even some stuttering. You can’t, because there aren’t. How to Fix Sons of the Forest Crashing and Freezing

A new game will oftentimes carry some performance issues that can be quite annoying. Frame rate drops, overall stability, random crashes and sudden freezes. I hate those, specially in the middle of a very important mission or fight. There are several things you can do to prevent those, and while waiting for an update is probably the best thing to do, you can try some things in the meantime.

  • Do a complete reinstallation of the game.
  • Update your graphics card drivers, this could potentially solve any compatibility issues.
  • Run the game as an administrator. This may solve any permission issues you may encounter while running the game normally.
  • Disable your Antivirus
  • Repair or verify the game’s files in Steam. Select Properties, Local Files and click on Verify integrity of game files. This could fix any potential errors that could be happening in-game due to any corrupted files.
  • Update to the latest Windows version, which will solve compatibility issues just like with your graphics card drivers.
