Running is almost an obsession in video games these days. It’s a mechanic that is so ingrained in us that people panicked last year when you couldn’t run in the first 5 minutes of the brand-new Pokemon games. We’ve just got to get to our destination as fast as we can in a game. There’s just no time to stop and smell the roses anymore. Well, those roses are in the game on the screen so we can’t smell them anyways but still. Some people are having issues with the lack of speed in Atomic Heart. So the question has to be asked, can you sprint in Atomic Heart?
Can you Sprint in Atomic Heart?
Nope, you can’t. There is no running in Atomic Heart. Yes, we know, quite disconcerting. How dare they make us briskly walk a bit fast. It is actually a bit annoying and frustrating though. You’re not very slow by any means in the game, however with a game so similar to Bethesda’s Wolfenstein and Fall Out series, compared to that sprinting it’s just disheartening to know we can’t run all over the place where we need to go.

There is the dodge button, which is a very weird mechanic. It’s not a traditional dodge. You’re really kind of speed jumping backward or forwards. In a way, you can use it like a sprint but it only lasts for a moment and then has to recharge a couple of seconds. You could just smash and spam that button for long distances if you really want to try and get where you’re going just a little bit faster. Ultimately it will just feel like a waste of effort most likely.
