Wild Hearts: How to Get Crustaceous Moss

Giant crabs is where I draw the line.

I’ve never been fond of sea creatures. I mean, we know pretty much nothing about the sea, and every year a more menacing and nightmare inducing creature emerges and becomes an Internet sensation. We are really close to finding a kraken, megalodon or even Cthulu himself and that wouldn’t surprise me. Today, we will face giant crabs, and yes, I haver never liked those either. Here is how to get Crustaceous Moss in Wild Hearts.

Now that I got rid of my sea creature tantrum, let’s get on to business, shall we? Firstly, be prepared to do some swimming, these crabs love water after all. Second, you will have to unlock the Natsukodachi Isle, aka the Spirit Isle, which happens to be the second area you will unlock in the game. Once you do, go ahead and travel to big water areas in the Isle in order to find these crabs. They are called Grassghoul Decapod by the way. Yes, that is a menacing name, almost like an evil Pokémon of sorts.

Anyway, once you find these giant crustacean lying on the water, go ahead and approach it. You have two options. You can kill it or you can pet it. If you kill the Grassghoul Decapod, you will either get the Crustaceous Moss or an alternative Small Kemono Carapace. However, if you pet the Decapod, it will drop the Crustaceous Moss 100% of the times. So, if you want to secure the Moss, then go ahead and pet the crabs. That sounds like a motto. Huh.

And that’s the end of the crab story. Go ahead and pet those crabs around as if they were kittens. Or, you can kill them instead, but I wouldn’t tempt the RNG gods in this case. Anyway, go ahead and enjoy your never ending supply of Crustaceous Moss, whatever it may be. Have a good one!
