Getting to fight small and easy to defeat creatures during the early game is a great way to introduce you to the game’s mechanics. Fighting, petting, item dropping, crafting. This encounters will serve to do just all the aforementioned activities. And such is the coincidence, that today will learn how to get one of the first materials you will be able to collect in the game. How convenient! It’s almost as if I prepared all this introduction on purpose. Oh well, here is how to get Small Scale in Wild Hearts.
How to Get Small Scale in Wild Hearts
Having to explore the world to encounter the most difficult items to collect is quite and adventure. However, we must all have a place to start. And that’s where the Small Scales enter, since they are one of the first resources you will be able to find in the game. As you can infer, you will be able to find these in Old Blossom Trail, which is the first isle we unlock in the game.
In order to collect some Small Scales, we will have to find some Springwatch Monitors. These are lurking around the southern area of the isle, specially around heavy vegetation. Don’t get fooled by their menacing look, these Monitors are quite easy to get rid of. Just go ahead and kill them with your basic attacks, and you will have a chance to collect a Small Scale drop from them. It is not guaranteed, but this is your best chance to get this material. Be wary that petting the Springwatch Monitor will give you another material entirely, so go ahead and give everything you got to send it to oblivion.

Alternatively, you can also find some Small Scales in Spirit Isle, which is the second area you will unlock in the game. Instead of getting rid of Springwatch Monitors, here you will have to deal with Sparshower Monitors. They will yield Small Scalles just as their Old Blossom counterparts, so just go ahead and hunt them down. Good luck with the hunt!
