The Great Fairies are mainstays of the Legend of Zelda series, and Breath of the Wild was no exception. The Great Fairies in that game were well known for their titanic size and boisterous nature, qualities which, come to think of it, would be highly beneficial on the battlefields of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Here’s how to unlock these lovely ladies.

Follow these steps to unlock the Great Fairies in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity.
The Great Fairies’ Trials
After you clear the mission “Akkala Tower” in Chapter 4 of the game’s story, a new quest will spawn in the Gerudo region titled “Offering Help on the Road.” To clear this quest, you’ll need to turn in 4,500 rupees, so either sell some stuff or do some grinding. When you’ve got the cash, turn it in, and you’ll be rewarded with double your investment, as well as access to the three Fairy Trials.
The three Fairy Trials will spawn in Central Hyrule, Hebra, and Gerudo, and have recommended levels of 25, 26, and 28, respectively.
Fairy Fountain: Grassy Plains
You’ll have 7 minutes to defeat a gaggle of large foes, quickly grabbing the rupees from the chests they drop. In this order, you’ll have to defeat two Fire Moblins, one Ice Moblin, and a Hinox. Once they’re all beaten and you have their rupees, you’ll have to take down Great Fairy Cotera one-on-one. She’s big, and hits like it, but she’s slow and has a big hitbox, so play it safe and fight from a distance if you can. All of the Fairy fights are the same, so consider that general advice.
Fairy Fountain: Deep Snow
For this mission, you’ll need to defeat five Ice Moblins while keeping a Rito Captain safe. Focus on dealing with the Ice Moblins as quickly as possible, and be ready to run back to the Captain to help when a Blue Moblin menaces him. Once the Captain is secured, defeat Great Fairy Kaysa, and you’re done.
Fairy Fountain: Desert Sands
You’ll have 13 minutes to collect 600 rupees from the various enemies. As soon as things get started, run to the other end of the map and defeat the Stone Talus that’s hanging around. This’ll make more Yiga soldiers spawn. After that, just try to wipe out as many at once as possible to get the maximum number of rupees, putting emphasis on the Blademasters. When you’ve got the cash, defeat Great Fairy Tera.
Fairy Fountain: Battlefield
With the other three dealt with, one last trial will spawn in Akkala with a recommended level of 29. You’ll have to beat a series of large monsters in very short timeframes, so focus exclusively on them and ignore the mobs. Make sure to grab the rupee chests they drop, ‘cause the timer won’t reset until you do. When they’re all gone, defeat Great Fairy Mija, and you’ll unlock all four Fairies as a single character!
