Everyone knows one of the worst things about starting out in RPGs in managing your inventory space. In Hogwarts Legacy, this inventory space is dubbed gear slots and hold any and all gear you will pick up. Along your travels in the wizarding world, you’ll more than likely accrue a wide variety of gear. This is a double-edged sword, as you will start your journey with a very limited amount of gear slots. You’ll be lugging around gear you’re not sure what to do with, all the while wanting to pick up the new shiny gear in chests. Leaving you to ponder and ask the question: what to do when gear slots are full in Hogwarts Legacy?
What to Do When Gears Slots Are Full in Hogwarts Legacy?
There will no doubt come a time where you will need to offload the excess gear in your gear slots. There are a couple of different ways to do this, depending on if you prefer saving time or making money. If you want to save time you can hover over the item and ‘destroy’ the item, removing it from your inventory permanently. This is a useful tool if you are in the middle of a dungeon and need to get rid of a few pieces of gear to make room for the newly received gear. Or if you just simply don’t want to take the time to go with option 2.

Option 2, allows you to free up a ton of gear slots, while also making some good money in the process. In order to do this, the player will need to find a shop keeper. These are abundant around Hogsmeade but can also be found throughout smaller settlements in the world. By talking to one of these NPCs with a stack of coins as their icon on the map, you are able to purchase any items or recipes they have available, and more importantly sell gear. There are no specific people that won’t buy certain pieces of gear, and you can tell what gear will sell for by hovering over it and looking at the sell value.
