I’m no survivalist, admittedly, but I do recall reading somewhere that bitterness in wild berries is a sign of poison. Then again, I don’t know how bees digest things, so maybe feeding them bitter fruit is fine! Maybe! To find out, here’s how to get Bitterberries in Bee Swarm Simulator.
How to get Bitter Berries in Bee Swarm Simulator
Bitterberries are a type of Treat in Bee Swarm Simulator that you can feed to your bees to gain positive effects. Specifically, feeding Bitter Berries to your bees will raise your Bond level with them by 100, and if you’re lucky, it may mutate them as well, buffing their stats. Since Bitterberries aren’t any bees’ favorite type of Treat, shooting for mutations are their primary usage.

Whenever you feed a Bitterberry to a bee, it has a 1 in 1,000 chance of mutating. If the bee in question is currently radioactive due to a prior mutation or certain items, those odds improve drastically, dropping to just 1 in 100. In the event one of the other bees in your hive has undergone a mutation and turned radioactive, spreading the condition to the other bees in the hive, you should have some Bitter Berries on hand to hopefully spark some additional mutations. It’s not as unethical as it sounds, don’t worry.
Obtaining Bitterberries
There are various ways to obtain Bitter Berries on a more or less consistent basis, though many of these methods do rely on drop rates. As such, it will likely take some time and grinding to get a decent stack of Bitter Berries together.
The ways you can get Bitterberries include:
- Clearing quest completion milestones for Brown Bear and Black Bear
- Defeating Ladybugs, Spiders, Scorpions, Rage Aphids, Tunnel Bears, and King Beetles
- Farming in particular fields, including Mushroom Fields, Spider Fields, Pineapple Patches, Cactus Fields, Rose Fields, Mountain Top Fields, and Pepper Patches
- Clearing out Puffshrooms
- Planting Pesticide in the Pepper Patch, Spider Field, or Mountain Top Field
- Redeeming certain codes
Basically, just play the game, farming, and harvesting in various fields and defeating critters, and you’ll find the Bitterberries start to gradually roll in. Then you can spread the gift of radiation to all of your bee buddies! Again, not unethical! They’re totally fine with it!
