Where to catch Thawedfish in Sports Story

You're gonna need a proper rod for this one.

Okay, I know different cultures have different names for things, but for the life of me, I can’t find any record of a “thawedfish” in the real world. I just get instructions on how to thaw a fish in a fridge. Maybe that’s why they’re so rare in Sports Story, because they aren’t supposed to exist. Anyway, here’s where to catch Thawedfish in Sports Story.

After you chat up the folk in the Pelican Waters pro shop, they’ll inform you of the reason the rain won’t let up: the Codsworth family has forgotten to bring a tribute to the Dark Shores for six months. Whoops. Go talk to the Codsworths in their floating house to the east, and Chase Codsworth will ask you to put some fish together for the tribute.

Most of the fish is stuff you’ve already caught already like Coddlers and Gilligans, but there’s something new on the list: Thawedfish. If you’ve already learned how to catch Boglets from the raincoat guy, you’ll need to learn to catch Thawedfish before they start showing up. Follow the floating path to the northeast until you reach a land passage leading to the Old Train Tracks. You’ll find another raincoat guy who offers to teach you how to catch Thawedfish.

There’s a bit of a hitch here, though. Thawedfish don’t hang out next to docks or landmasses, so your basic rod can’t reach them. Before you can fish up Thawedfish, you’ll need to return to the pro shop to get the Anglers Rod from the clerk. He’ll give it to you in exchange for a batch of sea critters:

  • 4 Coddlers
  • 2 Gilligans
  • 2 Boglets
  • 2 Crabs

All of these critters can be caught around Pelican Waters. The only exceptions are the Crabs; rather than fishing them up, you can get Crabs by checking the large blue floating bins around the area. Stand next to one and inspect it, and you’ll get a Crab, or some other fish or money. There’s enough around the bins to get you what you need.

Once you have everything you need, swap it for the Anglers Rod at the pro shop, then return to the raincoat guy to fish up the Thawedfish. Remember to equip your Sinker lure, as you’ll need to go a little deeper to catch it. After you catch your first Thawedfish, you’ll start finding them around Pelican Waters to fish up normally for Chase.
