The newly released procedurally generated pirating game, Sail Forth, brings players a whole slew of ways for players to build up their own private crew. With a vast, open world filled with exploration, there is a lot for players to do along the way as they create their pirating vision. One way to help with that is by fishing. But how can it be done? Well, today we’ll explain how to go fishing in Sail Forth!
How to Go Fishing in Sail Forth
In order to begin fishing in Sail Forth, you’ll first need to acquire a fishing rod. To do this, you’ll need to have completed the tutorial at the beginning of the game and have been spit out into the open ocean. From there, you’ll be able to begin exploring the different locations.

The place to find the fishing rod will be highlighted as a fish icon on that seafaring area. Once you’re at the right location, go ahead and locate the Anglerwrangler Emporium. It’s run by three quirky characters, each giving you a useful item to use. One of which is a fishing rod, free of charge!
Though fishing is easier said than done as you can’t just drop your line anywhere. Instead, you’ll need to sail around the ocean blue and locate a specified area to drop a line. Like in many games, these fishing spots have a lighter color of blue to them than the rest of the water. They’re also typically found near land but can also pop up in the middle of the ocean as well since they’re random.
Once you’ve found a fishing spot, you’ll be able to drop a line. Just press the button that corresponds to the one that pops up on your screen near a fishing spot. Once you do that, your goal is to keep your line steady. This is achieved by keeping the fish icon in the middle of the big green circle that pops up. Hold it there long enough and you’ll successfully catch a fish.
