Stalcraft – How to Join Mercenaries

The Mercs with no Mouths

The key to Stalcraft is survival and, to do this, sometimes you’re going to need some friends through a faction. Thankfully you have choices, so you can pick the faction that’s more suitable to you. Even amongst factions there are subsects to further assist you and offer more choices.

What are Factions in Stalcraft

The two major factions are the Stalkers and the Bandits. You’ll have your choice to join either but choose wisely as you’ll be stuck with them for the rest of your game. It doesn’t change much in terms of the main quests. However, there are some side quests that are faction specific.

The two factions have subfactions you can join. They have their own base and unique equipment, so it may be worth transferring your things over to a new character and trying a bit of every available faction. It’s near the endgame though so make sure you’re willing to play through everything again.

How to Join the Mercenaries in Stalcraft

After completing your training you’ll be given a choice of whether to join the Stalkers or the Bandits. You’ll want to choose the Bandits as they are the ones with the Mercenaries subfaction. Once you’ve joined, you’ll need to build your reputation to level 7. This opens the opportunity to choose between Mercenaries or Convenant.

After you get to level 7, make your way to the 100 rads bar. Search around for a person in armor, specifically Centurian armor. They’re a recruiter and will send you to another person to complete a task. Choosing the Mercenaries and completing the mission will allow you to join.
