Where do you Find Green Dragons in Old School Runescape (OSRS)?

Where are those pesky dragons?

There was a time when green dragons were iconic in Runescape. They separated the weak from the strong. These beasts helped out a lot while training range, mage, or melee and were located in pretty sketchy areas. Fighting them was difficult because you needed to be a certain level in order to kill them. Although now they are considered one of the weakest, if you were fairly new to the game and you came across one, you’d try to dodge them. You also needed to be on the look out for nefarious players who could run up and try to kill you for your items. In this guide we’re going to show you where to find green dragons in Old School Runescape (OSRS).

OSRS Green Dragon Location Wilderness

Green dragons are spread around Runescape in six different locations. These locations are sometimes dangerous because you need to take into consideration the players and other beasts lurking around. A notable spot they are taking place in is in the wilderness. There are a few spots around the wilderness they are at. One of those areas is North of the Graveyard of Shadows, which is in wilderness level 18-21. Another spot in the wilderness is deeper and a lot more dangerous. To find these green dragons you need to venture into the wilderness level 40-45, south of the Lava Maze. The last area in the wilderness is actually below it. You can find these creatures below the wilderness in the Wilderness Slayer Cave. If you want to fight off the dragons in the Wilderness Slayer Cave please note that they’re level 88, stronger than the others. Another wilderness location is south of Venenatis, a giant red spider located east of the Bone Yard at Wilderness level 31. The last wilderness location is in the Dark Warriors Fortress at around 14-16 in Wilderness.

OSRS Green Dragon Other Locations

Five out of the six spots for dragons are located in the wilderness. You’re probably wondering where the last green dragon is located? If you’re not comfortable traveling to the wilderness you can try these locations. The last location to find green dragons are located at Corsair Cove Dungeon, which is a cave system that takes place in southern part of Feldip Hills. This location isn’t a common one people go to because only two green dragons will spawn there.

OSRS Green Dragon Gear & Experience

Now that you know the location for all of the green dragons you’re probably wondering what type of gear you should bring on this journey. As we’ve said before, green dragons are the weakest dragons to fight in OSRS. If you plan on fighting in the wilderness, which we recommend since you can find up to eleven spawns near the Bone Yard, you’ll need to be prepared. Since the dragons are in the wilderness you should bring items you’re prepared to lose in battle. If you’re wanting to train Melee in OSRS we recommend bringing:

  • Helm of Neitiznot
  • Amulet of Torture
  • Infernal Cape
  • Proselyte Hauberk
  • Verac’s Plateskirt
  • Dragon Hunter Lance
  • Dragonfire Shield
  • Rada’s Blessing 4
  • Barrows Gloves
  • Dragon Boots
  • Berserker Ring

If you don’t want to lose these precious items you could always use a Rune Full Helm, Amulet of Glory, Fire Cape, Fighter Torso, Proselyte Cuisse, Anti Dragon Shield, Rune Gloves, Rune Boots, and Ring of Wealth. If you want to train Range you should bring:

  • Ava’s Accumulator
  • Black D’hide Body
  • Black D’Hide Chaps
  • Rune Crossbow
  • Anti-Dragon Shield
  • Broad Bolts (500)
  • Barrows Gloves
  • Ranger Boots
  • Ring of Wealth

HIGHLY IMPORTANT to always bring emergency teleportation runes so you can make a quick exit, as well as, prayer potions, and high level food. You never know who is out there that wants to kill you. If you’re wanting to kill over 100 dragons you could be looking at 30k melee experience you could earn, as well as, almost 10k hit point experience. If you need to fight green dragons for slayer experience you are looking at around 100 slayer experience per kill.
