Best 15 Battle Royale Games on Mobile

There are too many to count!

If ever there was an oversaturated market for a specific genre of games, it would have to be the battle royale titles. And though it seems like just about anyone is pumping one of those bad boys out, that doesn’t mean that they’re all worth playing. In fact, most of them are just downright stinkers.

Luckily for you, we play a lot of battle royale games in our free time, especially on mobile, so we know a thing or two about which ones are good and which to stay away from. There are actually quite a few that are worth your time, 15 to be exact. So, let’s talk about the best 15 battle royale games on mobile currently!

Apex Legends Mobile

Starting off our list is a title that really needs no introduction; Apex Legends Mobile. The mobile counterpart to the mainline multi-platform version, this handheld port of its older sibling is actually a very fun mobile battle royale title that works extremely well whether on a touch-screen or with a controller plugged in. This version is actually much better than the actual full Nintendo Switch version of the game. And that’s saying something.

Call of Duty: Mobile

Next on our list is the only way currently to play any sort of Call of Duty battle royale. This version’s mode, simply called Battle Royale, allows players to take on an open world to survive and plays extremely similar to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s own Blackout mode which was the franchise’s very first take on the battle royale genre. It isn’t the best when compared to Warzone, but it’s still very fun and runs extremely well.

PUBG Mobile

If you want a classic, realistic take on battle royale experiences on the go, then you can’t go wrong with PUBG Mobile. This is essential for battle royale players as it’s really the first full game to start it all. And even all these years later, it’s still one of the most fun to play out there.

New State Mobile

Though originally another version of PUBG on mobile devices (confusing, we know), New State Mobile is basically PUBG 2 but developed by another team. This is a great evolution of the formula, featuring new ideas, gameplay mechanics, maps, and even crossover events too. It’s definitely worth checking out if you want to take PUBG to the next level.

Zooba Zoo Battle Royale

One of the better battle royale games on the bigger gaming platforms is Super Animal Royale, and while it can’t be found on mobile just yet, there’s a great comparable choice in Zooba Zoo Battle Royale. Though not exactly the same, Zooba Zoo offers players cute animals to play with in a sort of isometric view where taking out enemies isn’t as straightforward as some of the others on this list.

Surviv.io

If you’re looking for a very arcadey or retro battle royale title, then Surviv.io is fantastic as it really offers players something new because of its top-down viewpoint. Players who like Vampire Survivors or Survivor.io will feel right at home with its gameplay and mechanics on display. Simple and fun.

Knives Out

If you’ve had your fill of PUBG and New State, Knives Out is a fantastic game to check out. It came around at the same time as PUBG Mobile, back in the day, and has continued to be a powerhouse on mobile devices because of the great ideas and difference in gameplay between it and the games that it’s obviously compared to.

Fortnite

Does it even have to be said? Fortnite is the quintessential battle royale, offering players the most refined gameplay mechanics and visuals that the genre has ever seen. This game is improved and innovated on so often that it’s hard to keep track of everything it’s doing. While it can’t be downloaded from the App Store or Play Store, iOS users can play through Xbox Cloud Gaming and Android users can download it directly from Epic Games’ website for free.

Stumble Guys

Personally, we think that one of the better battle royale titles of modern times is Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. And although Fall Guys can’t be found on mobile devices, Stumble Guys is the perfect substitute. It really does a fantastic job of capturing the magic that goes into Fall Guys and offers its own charm of silly characters and fun obstacle courses.

Bullet League

For fans of Worms Rumble, Bullet League is actually a very fun 2D side-scroller take on the battle royale genre. It offers great visuals and attacks that players will love to see. It’s a fantastic blend of Smash Bros. and Super Animal Royale which makes it the perfect game to pick up for a match or two. It isn’t too demanding on players’ time.

Minecraft PE

Though it may be a surprise to some, Minecraft was one of the very first pioneers of the battle royale genre back in the day. Its Hunger Games mode sees players do the old BR song and dance where weapons are actually more akin to the Hunger Games with swords, bows, and explosives as the only armory items for players to use in order to dispatch each other. It’s great fun, especially with the right group of friends. You just have to find a lobby to join.

ZombsRoyale.io

If you thought that Surviv.io sounded like a fun time, then you should try out ZombsRoyale.io too. It does exactly what you would want, offering a rudimentary version of combat but ups the ante by adding zombies into the mix for even more chaos. This is another fun one to try out for yourself, as it’s a great distraction from the bigger battle royale titles of the bunch.

Pixel Gun 3D

Do you want the Minecraft feel but with Fortnite-level weapons and mechanics? Pixel Gun 3D is a wonderful choice for battle royale players that are really tired of the same rigamarole of the genre, and want something a bit different to wet the whistle. The game has astounding reviews on the App Store, and for good reason. It’s a beautiful, fun title.

Bullet Echo

Another different kind of battle royale title is Bullet Echo. It’s a top-down shooter with similar gameplay to Super Animal Royale but with a realistic, tactical set of gameplay mechanics. There really isn’t another title like this out there. It’s basically the battle royale version of something like Rainbow Six: Siege because of its realism.

Warzone: Mobile

Though this title hasn’t been released just yet, there is no doubt in our minds that Warzone: Mobile is going to decimate the battle royale landscape once it finally drops onto mobile devices in 2023. It’s also apparently set to feature the fan-favorite map, Verdansk, and even cross-progression with Warzone 2.0 and MW2. How can you beat that?
