How to Complete Godai’s Photo Sidequest in River City Girls 2

Try not to think about how creepy this is.

I thought it was a societal rule of thumb that anyone who asks you to take pictures of yourself, outside of potential employers and governing bodies, is a certified creep and best ignored. Then again, if the creep in question is offering tangible compensation, well, that’s still pretty bad, but it’s easier to just not ask questions. Here’s how to complete Godai’s photo sidequest in River City Girls 2.

How to Complete Godai’s Photo Sidequest in River City Girls 2

Not long into River City Girls 2’s story, shortly after taking down the yakuza thugs at the bank, you’ll get word from everyone’s favorite creep (relatively speaking), Godai, who’s hanging out in the park near Capital Avenue. Pay him a visit, and he’ll inform you that he’s putting together a “secret photography project” that he needs you to take selfies for. Incredibly sketchy, but he is offering compensation, so what the heck.

This is a long-term sidequest that you won’t be able to finish right away. The way it works is that every major district of River City, aside from the final one, has a special spot with a blue camera icon on it. If you stand on that spot and press the interact button, you’ll take a selfie. Obviously, you can’t get to every spot in River City right away, so you’ll have to work on this as you progress in the game.

Crosstown Photo Spot

You can do this one right after taking the quest. Return to the mall and enter through the front entrance, then take the glass door exit located past the overpass on your right. In the middle of this scene is an elevator with a pair of angel wings painted behind it. Stand on the elevator to take the picture. Don’t dawdle, or else the elevator will drop down.

Downtown Photo Spot

In the gentrified area of Downtown, entered from the top-right section of Crosstown, there’s a small craft stand. Jump on top of it and use the ivy above it to climb up onto the rooftops. The photo spot is right next to a large, heart-shaped plant.

Uptown Photo Spot

In the nightclub you enter after getting past Mibobo, use the lights on the ceiling to work your way to the top of the large robot with its arms out in the background. The photo spot is located on the robot’s left shoulder (on your right).

Flatirons Photo Spot

Visit the shrine located north of the market stands before the Ferris wheel. At the top of the shrine, right next to the building, you’ll find the photo spot, but only at night. If it isn’t night yet, exit and enter the scene a few times to get the time to shift. When it’s night, the moon will appear, and you can take a picture.

Technos Photo Spot

The Technos photo spot is located in the Bio-Sphere, the same scene where you fight the area’s boss. On the left side of the large pit with lasers, you’ll find a toucan hanging out on a tree branch. Stand next to the little guy to take a picture.

Ocean Heights Photo Spot

The Ocean Heights photo spot is located on Parade Street, right in the middle of the district. There’s a perpetual parade running through here, and the photo spot is on one of the parade floats, specifically the one that looks like Abobo. Wait until the float appears, then quickly jump onto it to take the picture. If you miss the float, just leave the scene and come back to reset the parade.

River City High Photo Spot

The last photo spot can be found while you’re moving up toward the roof of the high school, in the Film Studies room. All you have to do is stand on the desk while the educational film is running on the screen in the background, and you can snap the picture.

Once you’ve taken every picture, you’ll receive your reward automatically. You don’t need to go back to Godai, you’ll just automatically receive some XP, some cash, and the Muscle Charm accessory, which increases the knockback on your attacks.
