How to Unlock Provie in River City Girls 2

The majority of the characters in River City Girls 2 are plucked from the other games in the surprisingly vast River City/Kunio-kun franchise. One of the game’s new playable characters, Provie, is a return from 2017’s River City Ransom: Underground, and she once again lays down the hurt with powerful breakdancing moves. Here’s how to unlock Provie in River City Girls 2.

Provie is encountered as part of the Uptown questline, wherein Misako and Kyoko need to get into a local nightclub on their hunt for Ken and his yakuza thugs. The entrance to the nightclub is located on the far side of the Uptown map in Yokocho, but the door is guarded by Mibobo (no relation to Abobo), who won’t let you in until you prove you can dance.

The local arcade in the Gaming District has a dancing game you can play to prove your skills, but the yakuza have taken it over and barred anyone without their special currency from entering. Kyoko and Misako’s friend Hiroshi gives you the location of three token machines in Yokocho, the Toy District, and the pawn shop basement, accessible from an alleyway in the Toy District. Find the three machines and smash them until they spit out the tokens you need. You’ll be screen locked until they spit out five tokens, so try to herd the enemies onto one side of the machine, then pummel it from the other side so they don’t bother you.

Getting a High Score

Once you’ve got 15 tokens, you can enter the arcade and play the dancing game in the back. It’s a simple game, just follow the prompts at the bottom of the screen to match the beat and win. Once you clear the dancing game, return to Yokocho and Mibobo will let you into the club.

Ken will run away immediately, siccing some goons on you on the dance floor. Once they’re cleared out, take the bottom-right exit. You’ll be screen locked again in a room with an electrified floor, though the enemies aren’t immune to it, so you can just shove them into the electrified bits when they light up.

After that’s done, take the northern exit, and you’ll encounter Provie in the Robot Club. She mistakes Kyoko and Misako for yakuza toughs, so you’ll need to defeat her. She fights like a normal combatant mostly, though she’ll occasionally perform a wide-sweeping leg spin, as well as a spinning breakdance around the arena. Just wait for her to stop and resume the pummeling. The real thing you need to watch out for is the laser-shooting robots on either side of the arena. When they fire off a beam, a wave of fire will follow afterward, so get ready to jump.

Once you defeat Provie, she’ll join your crew, allowing you to switch to her from your hideouts or the character select screen. Teach those yakuza punks how they do things in the Underground!
