The Callisto Protocol may be available, but is there an objective best way to play? The latest offering from Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield is on multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. But, let’s say you don’t currently possess a PC powerful enough to take on this survival horror behemoth, but you do have a PS5 and/or Xbox Series X|S. What should be your target platform?
The Callisto Protocol — Should You Buy on Xbox or PS5?
It is — like with most of these conundrums — ultimately up to personal taste. But, there are some features that are exclusive to the PS5 that you should probably know about going in. Namely, the game will make full use of the PS5’s DualSense controller. This means that, thanks to the haptic feedback function, players will be able to feel when they attack the various threats in The Callisto Protocol.
It might not be the biggest dealbreaker for some gamers, but if you’re really into immersion, you might opt to purchase the PS5 version. But, if you’re more into the story itself and don’t mind not having the haptic feedback, then again … it’s entirely your prerogative.

To add, there are some on the r/Gaming subreddit who have suggested the PS5 version will be better optimized since it was revealed that Sony lent their Motion Capture studio to Striking Distance Studios. But, to reiterate a third time: at the end of the day, your platform of choice is entirely up to you. And, given that there are no differences story/gameplay-wise, you can’t go wrong with either.
