Pokémon Scarlet and Violet brings a whole slew of new Pokémon to the table. Catch some familiar faces, or experience the brand-new Pokémon that roam around the gorgeous lands of the Paldea region. One such Pokémon is Maushold, the evolved form of Tandemaus. This evolution line is unlike the others, as instead of building up one Pokémon, you are building a family of Pokémon. Here is how to get the Family of Three and the Family of Four forms of Maushold in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to get Family of Three and Family of Four Forms of Maushold in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
How to Evolve Tandemous into Maushold
Unlike in previous Pokémon entries, the evolution won’t be fancy or a staggering display. Instead, evolution is a random event that will happen once the Pokémon hits level 25.
After Tandemous has levelled up, make sure to check your party. Instead of your previous little Pokémon, you’ll now see a Maushold! So keep grinding and fighting Tandemous and soon enough you’ll see Maushold in its place.
How to Get Family of Three Form
Both Forms of Maushold aren’t explicitly stated or named in the game, and players have been trying to find ways to influence which form Maushold will take to. However, there is nothing you can do. It is completely random.
Most players will receive the Family of Three form as it is the most common of the two. In fact, it could be suggested that this form is the ‘proper’ form, and that the other is merely a rare chance.

How to Get Family of Four Form
There is a 4% chance (1 in 25) of a player finding that their Maushold has evolved into a family of four. So, if you don’t get the family of four, then you will merely have to catch another and try again. This may become a tedious and long process for many players, but there is no other way.
