Woopers may look a bit different in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet than in previous Pokémon games, but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth training and evolving! Paldean Woopers evolve into Clodsires, which are unexpectedly tough powerhouses that can become extremely powerful when in the hands of the right trainer. If you think you’re up for the challenge, keep reading to see how you can get your hands on a Clodsire by evolving a Paldean Wooper in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet!
How to Evolve Wooper in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Paldean Woopers, unlike the Gen 2 Woopers, live on land and are primarily brown instead of blue. Paldean Woopers also have two bone-shaped gills protruding from their heads and eight-pronged patterns on their stomachs. In addition to their appearance, Paldean Woopers also have a different type combination than the Gen 2 Woopers we all know and love: Poison/Ground. For all these reasons and more, Wooper is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
If you thought Paldean Woopers were cool, then wait until you evolve one into a Clodsire! Clodsires are the Paldean version of Quagsires, except they’re Poison/Ground type instead of Water/Ground. Who wouldn’t want a beefy poisonous tank on their team??
Thankfully, evolving Paldean Woopers isn’t much different than evolving the Gen 2 Woopers from the Johto region. All you need to do is to make sure your Wooper is at least level 20; you can level it up by battling, through Rare Candies, Exp Share, or even by utilizing the Camping/Picnic feature in the game. As long as it’s at least level 20 and is (at least) somewhat fond of you, you should have a Clodsire in no time!
