With the release of Warzone 2.0 on most major platforms, players can look forward to the next iteration of the battle royale mode. There are new weapons, modes, and a new map to play on. Though the game is squad based, there are several players who prefer to play solo. In the beginning of Warzone 2.0’s launch, there were no options for solo players to que into. This has raised the question, are there modes meant for solo players to join?
To address the question directly, yes, Activision has every intention of letting solo players enjoy Warzone 2.0. While there was a brief moment in time where the only active playlist was quads, that has now been fixed. Here’s how solo players can enjoy Warzone 2.0 by themselves.
Join in on a Squad
Solo players can still play the squad based shooter, even be part of a team. Joining in on the various squad modes, solo players can queue up and work together with random players. With in game voice chat, communication and teamwork should be easy to get started.
Solo Playlists
Then for those who truly want to be a lone wolf, there is the solo playlists. In these matches, you can only rely on yourself to win, as everyone is out to get each other. Those seeking the true solo experience should queue up here, and not forget to keep an eye behind them.
Can you play DMZ solo?
Another new addition coming with Warzone 2.0 is the DMZ mode. Comparable to Destiny 2’s dungeons, this mode has players coordinating and solving puzzles all while defending themselves against hordes of enemies.
While you can solo queue and join a squad, it’s probably not the best idea.
As mentioned above, DMZ requires coordinated teamwork and communication. Joining in a public lobby may not guarantee that. Without proper communication, this can lead to failure. Those who want to try out DMZ may want to find two friends to play with first, as well as have an open line of communication such as Discord or in game chat.
