How to Beat Team Star in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Beat the Baddies!

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, like with nearly every other entry in the franchise, you’ll come face-to-face with a group of nefarious do-no-gooders. In the Paldea region, this group is Team Star, named because of their unearned confidence and can-do spirit, supposedly. Early in the story, you’ll encounter a pair of Team Star grunts giving Penny a hard time. It would seem that the time has come to make them see stars! Read on to learn more about kicking the Team Star grunts to the curb!

So, this battle stretches across two halves. In the first half, you’ll take on Grunt A, who will send out a level 8 Shroodle, a poison/normal type. It might be a good idea to bust out a grass type, but you should be able to fend this one off as long as you’re leveling as you should be. Once you handle Grunt A, you might think you’ll get away without having to battle Grunt B. But alas, in comes Nemona, who hands you a Tera Orb and sends you back to the front lines. It turns out, this battle is a tutorial for Terastallizing!

Nemona practically bullies Grunt B into giving you a bit of practice with the Tera Orb. They’ll send out a level 9 Yungoos, but because this is a Terastallize tutorial, follow the on-screen instructions. So long as your ‘mon is terastallized, there’s not much of a chance you’ll lose this particular battle. After you win, you’ll get to watch the Team Star grunts run away, and Nemona will brief you on who they are. It’s probably something you’d wanna keep in the back of your head for later in the game.
