All Puzzle Solutions in Act 5 The Entropy Centre

Act 5 Intro

Act 5 starts in a large storage area. You need to get to the very top floor of this room. To do so, head up the stairs until you reach a desk with a PC.

Select the ‘Detach Container’ option on the PC. The container in front of you will fall, taking out the staircase with it. What you need to do is rewind the container until it is floating mid-air, slightly below the highest part of the staircase that you are standing on. From here you can jump onto the floating container.

Simply stand on top of the container and point the gun down until you see the orange outline. Rewind until you are at the top where the container will reattach. You can jump onto the platform and continue the game. Put the power supply into the door and rewind to unlock.

Puzzle 0501

New Act, new mechanic. We now have extendable bridges to deal with. As always with The Entropy Centre, the introductory puzzle starts out relatively simple. The focus of 01 puzzles is the demonstration of new puzzle mechanics. This puzzle has 3 switches, 2 boxes and 2 extendable bridges. You need to get a box past both bridges to operate the exit door switch. The main focus here is to create one trail that hits both bridge switches so that you can bring both boxes across the first bridge.

Here we are creating a trail specifically for Box 2.

  • Take Box 1 and place it on first bridge switch.
  • Go across the bridge where you will see Box 2. Place the box on the second bridge switch.
  • Pick up Box 2 and go back over the first bridge and place it beside Box 1 so that they are both on the first bridge switch.
  • Now, take Box 1 over the bridge. Place it anywhere in this section, it does not need to go on the second switch.

  • Now that Box 2 is on the first bridge switch the trail is complete, ready for you to hit rewind. As you can see in the two screenshot below, Box 2 will float back to the second bridge switch, going over the gap as the bridge is now down. Just rewind until Box 2 is on the second bridge switch.

Now with both boxes past the first bridge, you can take Box 1 and go across the second bridge. Place the box on the exit door switch at the end of the second bridge.

Puzzle 0502

This Act 5 puzzle is simpler than the last. You just have to put the jump pad in a particular order to get to the exit door. This one has 3 simple trail steps.

  • Start your trail by moving the jump pad onto the exit door switch.
  • Then move the jump pad to the extendable bridge switch.
  • Finally, place the jump pad against the lowest section of the upper level/ second floor.
  • Use the jump pad and jump up.
  • Check your trail is correct before you continue. You can see in the screenshot below how the trail should look.

  • Rewind the jump pad until it hits the bridge switch. Make sure you stop it here otherwise you will have to drop down and redo the trail again.
  • Go across the bridge.
  • Standing next to the exit door, look down and rewind the pad once more. Hit ‘Stop Rewind’ when it gets onto the exit door switch.

Puzzle 0503

This puzzle was definitely the most challenging one yet for me. There is a good chance that my solution is not the “correct” way of solving this puzzle, but it worked anyway. Really, is there a correct way to solve time-bending puzzles?

There are 3 switches total here. 1 operates the exit door, 1 operates the middle door and the third operates the extendable bridge. The most challenging aspect of this puzzle is that the switch which operates the exit door is behind the Time Gate. This means that every time you pass through it will delete any trail that you have made using the entropy device.

  • Place Box 1 and Box 2 on the switch up the stairs (the bridge switch).
  • Take Box 1 across the bridge and place on the switch by the closed door (this switch unlocks that door).
  • Pick Box 1 up again, moving it back onto the bridge switch.

The trail will look something like the screenshot below. What you want here is to be able to rewind Box 1 from across the bridge so that it flies over the gap and ends up on the door switch. But before you do that, you need to put Box 2 in its correct place.

  • Take Box 2 and go to the middle of the bridge. This is being operated by Box 1 (the starting position of the rewind).
  • Go as far out towards the edge that you can. Make sure that you do not drop down or you will have to redo all of these steps.
  • Hold Box 2 over the edge, slightly underneath yourself and the bridge.
  • Cross your fingers and drop the box. It should land on the switch behind the Time Gate.

If it does not work, try again. This is the only solution I have been able to come up with for this puzzle. It worked for me, so it’ll work for you!

  • With Box 2 on the switch behind the Gate. Go across the bridge to the side with the doors.
  • Rewind Box 1 until it is on top of the door switch. The process should look a lot like the screenshot below.
  • Both doors will now be open so you can head on through and finish this puzzle.

Puzzle 0504

Anyone find the dialogue between ASTRA and Aria super distracting? This Act 5 puzzle is a breath of fresh air compared to the last puzzle. There are 2 switches, 1 bridge, 1 box and a jump pad. All you need to do here is grab the box on the other side of the room via the bridge and then create a trail with the jump pad to get to the exit door.

  • Step 1 is to place the jump pad on the extendable bridge switch (to the right of the entrance).
  • Go across the bridge and grab the box on the other side. Bring it back across the bridge.
  • Move the jump pad off the bridge switch and replace with the box.
  • Create a trail with the jump pad starting at the exit door switch (the switch on the left from the puzzle entrance).

  • Then pick up the pad and take it across the bridge (the box is operating it).
  • Place the pad on the other side of the bridge, directly underneath the second-floor wall. The final trail will look something like the screenshot above.
  • Use the jump pad to jump up, you will now be standing next to the exit door.
  • Rewind the jump pad until it is on top of the exit door switch.
  • Now that this is unlocked you can walk through and head towards the final puzzle of Act 5.

Puzzle 0505

The final Act 5 puzzle is all about the order of the trail. Get familiar with the switches in the room and what they operate. There are 4 switches and only 1 box to use. With the return of the Time Gate, puzzle 0505 is about angles and the timing of rewinding.

  • You want your trail to start on the exit door switch so that when you rewind it, the box will end up there.
  • Next, move the box onto the extendable bridge switch.
  • Then onto the Time Gate switch.
  • Finally, to complete the trail, move the box onto the switch that opens the door to the slingshot (this is the switch right beside the staircase).
  • Now that the trail is ready (it will look something like the screenshot below), head up the stairs.

  • Standing at the top of the stairs, peer over so that you have clear LOS of the box. Refer to the screenshot below. (Make sure that you do not accidently step on the slingshot behind you otherwise you will have to redo the trail).
  • From here, rewind the box so that it sits on the Time Gate switch.

  • With the box on the switch, the Time Gate is now off. Use the slingshot to shoot across to the other side.

  • Now on this side you just need to get across the gap and unlock the door. Rewind the box until it is sitting on top of the bridge switch.
  • Walk over the bridge.
  • You should now be right next to the exit door. Look over and rewind the box one last time until it is on top of the exit door switch. This will unlock it and you can go through. You have completed every Act 5 puzzle.

Act 5 Ending

Sometimes these sections are more difficult than the actual Entropy Centre’s puzzles. This one is just awkward to execute. In this section you need to find a switch that will unlock the Entropy Transport System. Somehow, I managed to get myself crushed rewinding five times here.

The switch can be found in the orange room to the top right corner of your screen (see screenshot below). To get there you need to bring down the two containers above you. The switch with a lock symbol on it will bring those containers down.

  • Jump on the rubble in between the container on the left and the intact crates beside it.
  • From here, you can jump up on the intact crates.

  • Now on the crates, jump onto the container.
  • From here start rewinding the left container (the one you are standing on) until you are above the right container (this should be on the floor already)

  • When you have rewound enough so that you are above the right container (see screenshot below), jump across to it.
  • You should now be on the right container. From here you just need to rewind all the way to the top.

  • When you are at the top, jump across to the platform and head into the orange room.
  • In the middle of the room there is a switch with another lock symbol on it. Press to unlock and the Transport System will come online.
  • Head back down and go to the back of the room. Act 5 is complete.
