From Space will have you unloading lead into the squishy bodies of those purple, ravenous aliens. You can go solo or team up with your buddies on your crusade against the extraterrestrials. You may notice every now and then that you pick up Energy Orbs along your travels. What are these Energy Orbs? And what are they used for? Here is how to use your Energy Orbs in From Space.
What the Energy Orbs Are Used for in From Space
How to Get Energy orbs
Energy Orbs are sourced in a few ways.
Firstly, and most noticeably, aliens may drop Energy Orbs upon death. They are easily noticeable as the glowing orbs that will float around for a small while. If they are not collected, however, then they will vanish.
Energy Orbs can also be harvested from the eggs, or those strange alien pods, or even any crystal outcrops. Simply throw a load of bullets into the containers or melee attack them and you’ll be richly rewarded with many, many Energy Orbs. Whenever you pass them, don’t pass up the opportunity to grab them. And don’t worry, Specialists will share the same pool of Energy Orbs, so no worries about that, either.

How to Spend Your Energy Orbs
With your pool of Energy Orbs, make your way to a Workbench. Workbenches can be found in safe zones, and with a purple glowing orb on the surface. Interacting with the Workbenches allow you to upgrade your weapons and perks using your preciously collected Energy Orbs.
Each weapon and perk can be upgraded twice, going from basic to enhanced to perfected, each upgrade enhancing qualities. The upgrades aren’t cheap, and all of your specialists share the same pool, so you will either have to be frugal and careful with your orbs or do a lot of grinding.
The upgrades are worth the costs, though, and this may be crucial for defeating any tough areas that From Space has to offer you. Just make sure you upgrade a weapon or perk that you intend on keeping for a while, to not waste your Energy Orbs.
