Signalis is a retro horror experience where the puzzles and story will wrap around your brain and mind. Some of the puzzles are quite complex, with many steps and requirements. Others, are simple, yet interactive. With the Astrolabe in your inventory, you have one vital piece of your escape from the facility, but how to use it remains a mystery. Here is how to use the Astrolabe in Signalis.
What the Astrolabe is used for in Signalis
Acquiring the Astrolabe
The Astrolabe, if you haven’t got it already, is trapped inside the Library’s computer (floor B8). To access the Library, you need the Library Key, in the Postbox (floor B6). The Postbox, in turn, needs the Postbox Key from the KLBR Bedroom (floor B8) that branches from the KLBR Study that needs the Hummingbird Key. The KLBR Bedroom is in the dark, so you’ll need a flashlight.
With access to the library, you can interact with the computer at the top of the room.
A simple puzzle keeps the only housed book from you. Move the selector around until it lands on the book, then interact with it to withdraw the book. If you are having trouble, plan a route out from the book to a point your selector can easily access. Working backward is usually easier.
With the book, open it to find the Astrolabe.
The Shrine Box
With the Astrolabe, you must now make your way to the ADLR Study, branching from the ADLR Bedroom (floor B8). Those rooms sprout from the North Hallway, and are guarded by a couple of monsters, so be careful. To access the Study, you will need the Eagle Key, which can be found in the KLBR Study. You will most likely have this already.
Bring your flashlight for the ADLR Bedroom, as it is in the dark. At the end of the ADLR Bedroom will be the Eagle Door which you can now unlock.

At the End of that room is a Shrine Box. It is there where you can insert the Astrolabe. All you need to do now is solve the puzzle.
Solving the Shrine Box puzzle
The symbols in the Shrine Box’s dials corollate to the solar system on the Star Map in the Briefing Room (floor B8, opposite the Library). You can take a screenshot of the Star Map or use the Eidetic Module to take a picture.
There are six points that the dials can be pointing two. With the top-most point being ‘1’, and going clockwise, the dials must be in these positions:
- The 1st dial must point the 5th position.
- The 2nd dial must point to the 6th position.
- The 3rd dial must point to the 2nd position.
With that, the Shrien Box will pop right open.
