So, need that red key card in Inside the Backrooms, but are struggling to get past the Partygoer? Many players are in the same boat. This is the most difficult and controversial section in Inside the Backrooms, but it is beatable. You must play and win the Partygoer’s games, or die trying. Unfortunately, this section is not skippable, and must be played no matter what ending you are going for. Here is how to beat the Partygoer in Inside the Backrooms.
How to get past the Partygoer’s games in Inside the Backrooms
Pop them all or die
The first game is simple, and is the only game where you don’t necessarily have to survive to win. Balloons will pop up from the ground, and you must run around and pop them using ‘E’. Do not waste a moth jelly on this game. Once all the balloons are popped, another round of balloons will rise, more than before. This will happen a total of three times.
If you fail to pop all the balloons before the time runs out, they will rush towards you, dealing some damage. This is not always fatal, but try to pop them all. Before popping the final balloon, wait till the last second to recover some stamina for the next round.
Find your gift
The most difficult game of the three. You must stand near the wall with the writing and watch as walls rise in the room, forming a maze. Hidden in the maze is a box, or ‘gift’, that you must find and open, by pressing ‘E’. If you don’t find the gift before the timer runs out, then the lights will turn red and the Partygoer will spawn in the maze.

Listen to the footsteps and avoid it. If it sees you, run like hell to hopefully lose it. It is fast, however, so it may catch you. You will instantly die if it does. If you die, the Partygoer will despawn and the timer will reset, but the gift will now be in a different spot.
With your flashlight, search every corner and alcove for the gift. If you find it, open it. You will then move on to round two, where there are two gifts to find without getting killed. Round three will be next, with three gifts. Even if you find some of the gifts, upon death, all gifts will reset and move to different locations.
Upon finding all three gifts in stage three, the walls will descend.
Blow the candles
This is the final game. When you stand in the square, all the lights will go out, and red marking tape will line the floor. Another maze will have appeared, but an invisible one, the walls only marked out by the tape on the floor. The Partygoer will be in a corner.
A candle will appear somewhere in the invisible maze. Using your torch to find out where the walls are, you must make your way to the candle and blow it out. If you don’t do it before the timer runs out, then the Partygoer will start frollicing around the room, ignoring the walls. If it sees you, it will run towards you and kill you. This time, however, the candles do not reset and stay in the same place.
Once you have blown out the first candle, the second round will begin with two candles, and then the third round with three candles.
Once you have blown out all the candles in round three, start making your way towards the centre, as there will now be candles on the flesh cake. You must blow them out, too. Upon doing so, the cake will explode, revealing the Red Key Card. Pick it up and make your way to the exit that will now have appeared in a wall.
The Partygoer can still kill you whilst you escape, so try to do it as quickly as you can.
