If you’re an Oculus Quest 2 owner like me, then you may have been having some fun with Stress Level Zero’s new game, Bonelab. A game that allows you to make of it what you will, there really isn’t anything like it on the platform.
Though it’s technically not a new game to players who have been playing on Steam, the Quest 2 player base who have just received it have a lot to learn about how to play. And if you’re wondering how you can actually unlock characters and avatars in Bonelab, then we’ve got you covered! Let’s check it out!
How to Unlock Avatars and Characters in Bonelab
Something that players love about Bonelabs is that it really is a playground of sorts with tons and tons of things to unlock and play around with. Finding characters and avatars does take some time though and will require players to do some in-game progress.
In order to unlock characters and avatars throughout Bonelabs, players actually need to play the Story Mode in order to unlock them. There are a total of 6 pages worth of characters and avatars to unlock over the course of the Story Mode.
It’s also worth noting that the Story Mode cannot be accessed until you’ve passed the inital first few levels of the game which get you comfortable with controls and how the game actually works. This will actually take some time to complete, but you’ll know that you’re finished when you reach the game’s Main Hub where Story Mode, among other things, can be accessed.

After completing the campaign and unlocking the characters and avatars from that, there are a handful that can be unlocked in the game’s Main Hub afterwards. If you’d like to find them, they’re in blue balls that can be opened. There are 3 in total and can be found on the top of the elevator, the pillar to the right of the Boneworks door and in the dumpster near the parkour door.
So, now you know how to unlock the various characters and avatars within Bonelab and where to find some of them! Good luck on your completion of the Story! Be sure to check out some of our other great Bonelab guides in order to learn everything you can about its latest release!
