How to Open the Butterfly Box in Signalis

In Signalis, you will be posed with many, many mysteries. As you walk through the Worker’s Accommodations, however, you’ll come across one of the most interesting items you’ve come across yet. The Butterfly Box. The fact that it is in the evidence locker aside, what does such a seemingly innocent box have to do with such a dark game? Here is how to open the Butterfly Box in Signalis.

How to unlock the Butterfly Box in Signalis

Finding the broken keys

To unlock this box, you’ll need a key. However, it isn’t as easy as simply finding one item. The key to this box is broken in half, and scattered around the map, one in each wing. So to unlock this box, you’ll need both the East Wing Key and the West Wing Key.

In the East Wing is where you will find the first Broken Key. In the Worker Bathroom, to the south of the Southeast Corridor, you will find the first broken half. Pick it up. If storage is a problem, you can always store it in the First Aid room for now.

With the first half acquired, find the West Wing Key in the Rationing Office and make your way through the West Wing.

You will come across the Showers, a room with a creature standing at the other end. After you have killed it, the second half will be lying on the floor.

With both halves, you are now one step away from opening the box.

Unlocking the Butterfly Box

Have both halves in your inventory. You’ll need to utilize the ‘combine feature’ like you did with the duct tape and the broken Airlock Key. with both halves combined, you will have created the Butterfly Key.

The square features are perfect for unlocking the box.

Go back to the Butterfly Box in the Evidence Locker and interact with the Butterfly Box. But not before preparing yourself.
