How to unlock the Golden Route Ending in Triangle Strategy

Going down the ultimate path

There are multiple endings for Triangle Strategy, which is why the game’s use of choices and convictions is so compelling. However, out of the three standard outcomes (hinting at the name surely), there is a secret fourth ending depending on specific choices that you must make in order to achieve what you could call the true ending. Here is how you unlock the secret Golden Route Ending in Triangle Strategy.

How to secure the Golden Ending

The Golden Ending will only be presented to you in Chapter 17. After being offered the three regular options, if you’ve done everything right, you get the 4th option. However, there are a lot of things you must have done exactly right much earlier to secure this ending.

  • Starting with Chapter 7, when you have to choose whether to defend or give up Roland. Either choice is fine however if you defed Roland you can not use wildfire traps in battle. Using the traps will completely negate the route.
  • In Chapter 9, you have to choose to help smuggle salt for Sorsley Ende, the Minster of Salt.
  • If you complete the salt transport request in Chapter 9, then in Chapter 10 you will be able to reveal Roland’s identity. You must tell Svarog Aesfrost Roland’s identity and this can only happen if you help Sorsley in Chapter 9.
  • You will have to choose to side with or against the Roselle people in Chapter 11. You must defend them and side with them to unlock the Golden Route. In Chapter 12 you must find the Roselle Key, The Pink Rock to continue forward after making the right choice in Chapter 11.
  • Finally, your last key choice is in Chapter 15. You must choose to return to Wolffort to talk to Symon again.

Completing the Golden Route

Completing these choices in their designated Chapters will lock you onto the Golden Ending. In Chapter 17 when you are given the three standard options, you will now be presented with a fourth that simply states “There must be another way…” This will unlock two new chapters. This will also grant you the only way to recruit the enemy general Avlora. This route also grants you specific characters to recruit along the way and you can check out who you get ahead of things here.
