The Jetpack allows the player to fly themselves around, though it does draw from your personal energy. Even in short bursts, this item can boost players to locations previously unreachable to them.

Locate the Lab

To upgrade equipment, you’re going to need a place to work. That place is the Lab, and it is located underneath the Conservatory. To one side of the player’s house is a stairway leading downwards. Following it will take you into a spacious underground laboratory with machines called the Refinery and the Fabricator.

The Fabricator will display upgrades and unlockable items when interacted with and provide you with a list of items necessary to obtain your upgrade of choice. When you have the items collected, add them to the Refinery and head back to the Fabricator to confirm your selection.

Where to Get Items to Unlock the Jetpack

To get the Jetpack in Slime Rancher 2, you will need three separate items: Newsbucks, Radiant Ore, and Phosphor Plorts.

The two most accessible items to gather will be Newsbucks and Phosphor Plorts. Newsbucks represents the in-game currency, which the player receives from turning in plorts from slimes. Players should have at least one coral in the Conservatory for slimes of any kind. If the slimes are cared for properly, players can collect and turn in their plorts. Saving up to 450 Newsbucks can easily be all in a day’s work.

Phosphor Plorts, as the name suggests, come from Phosphor slimes. You can encounter these softly glowing, floating blobs across Rainbow Fields as the sun goes down, throughout the nighttime, and in the early morning. Plorts can be gathered from wild Phosphor slimes, or the player can choose to take some slimes back to the Conservatory to farm plorts from later.

Radiant Ore is a shimmering, beautiful rock required to complete the recipe for unlocking the Jetpack. The best bet for finding Radiant Ore is to take to the game’s sandy, oceanic tidepool areas. These can be found within Rainbow Fields and winding through the other locations players can work to gain access to. Expect to put in a little effort with the searching, as these rock chunks are often found in hidden crannies amongst the coral.
