Making Friends in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Making friends is really easy, and fun! You must first meet one of the characters in the game. You will have to go out of your way to find many of them. But once you have, you should start by helping them with a quest they’ll have waiting for you.

Do the quest, and you’ll be close to the character already, if not already a friend.

But it isn’t enough to merely complete their first quest. Talk to them again, and you’ll see there are a lot of dialogue options.

Out of all of them, there is one that is simple, just a question or speech. Having small talk and interacting with the characters increases their friendship with you, so check back with your friends frequently.

The other options are where you’ll really be becoming friends with your characters. By giving them gifts, their friendship meter could rocket up dramatically. Especially if there was more effort put into crafting the item, or if it is a rare and valuable item. Good food works really well here.

Each character will also have some things they favor over others for that day. If you give them that item, their friendship meter will rise dramatically, so if you have any spare, don’t hesitate to gift it to them!

But you can’t just make small talk and throw a load of items at them. To really become friends, you have to bond with them, by asking them to hang out.

Hanging out with a friend and doing menial tasks, like foraging, crafting, fishing, etc, will increase their friendship by small increments every time. This is a great way to do what you need to do whilst becoming better friends with them.

By increasing your friendship levels, you will be entitled to great rewards, so it pays to be nice!

What to do with friends in Disney Dreamlight Valley

When a character reaches level 1, you can assign them a role. When you hang out with that character again, they will provide bonuses for the role you assigned them.

If you hang out with a character you assigned to fishing, then the fishing bonus of all characters with that role will play into effect. When you next fish, that character has a chance to find more fish, so you will be getting more for your troubles.

It is worth always having a companion around, especially a companion specialized in whatever it is you will be doing. Make sure to swap out companions to constantly be raising friendship meters and to make sure you get the most out of our tasks.
