Where to find Bloodbags in Valheim

Where to find Bloodbags in Valheim

Bloodbags are one of the many items you can collect from the mobs in Valheim. The item is also one of the requirements for progressing into the mountain biome, as you’ll need it to craft some frost resistance potions to avoid freezing to death. Here’s a quick guide on where to find Bloodbags in Valheim and a rundown on what recipes you can make with it.

Where to find Bloodbags in Valheim

You can find Bloodbags in Valheim by killing leeches within the swamp biome. Leeches are one of a few different types of mobs you’ll find in the swamp, and they tend to hang out in bodies of water. When battling leeches, be aware of their deadly poison attacks, which deal damage over time to your character. If you kill a leech in a deep body of water, the Bloodbag may sink to the bottom where you can’t retrieve it, so try to lead them to a shallow spot on the coastline.

The Bloodbag item is currently used in three different crafting recipes, including Blood pudding, Frost Resistance Mead Base, and Medium Healing Mead Base. You’ll also need them if you want to construct some Red Banner decorations for your settlement. Here’s a rundown of Bloodbags recipes:

  • Blood pudding – 2 Thistle, 2 Bloodbag, 4 Barley Flour
  • Mead Base: Frost Resistance – 10 Honey, 5 Thistle, 2 Bloodbag, 1 Greydwarf Eye
  • Mead Base: Medium Healing – 10 Honey, 4 Bloodbag, 10 Raspberries, 1 Dandelion
  • Red Banner – 2 Fine Wood, 6 Leather Scraps, 1 Bloodbag

Blood Pudding is one of the best food items in Valheim, and the two Mead Bases prove useful for the Mountains biome and survival in general. For that reason, you’ll probably want to consider farming a few leeches and building up a steady supply of Bloodbags to last you a while.
