When Does Starfield Come Out? – Full Release Date Details

The team over at Bethesda has poured 16 times the energy and effort into this game.

Back in June of 2022, Xbox and Bethesda held a games showcase with the premise being that all the games seen, would be playable in the next 12 months. Fast forward to March of 2023, and Bethesda has released less than exciting details on their next IP, Starfield. Uploading a video to YouTube where company director Todd Howard outlined just how much the studio has been putting into the game. One would say the team over at Bethesda 16 times the energy and effort into this game. Due to the sheer amount of content the game is projecting to launch with, players have been eagerly awaiting this video to know when they can get their hands on the interstellar exploration. Let’s embark and answer the question: when does Starfield come out?

The video opens with a cinematic overview of some planets, and structures that you will theoretically see during your time playing the game. After the fade to black, the games release day fades into picture, and we learn that Starfield will come out September 6th, 2023. But that’s not the end of the almost 3 minute video.

Todd Howard comes to us from the Bethesda studio, talking about the release date and just how much the team has been working to make Starfield a worthy experience for gamers. With claims such as thousands of planets to explore, Howard and his team have a seemingly tall order to fill. However this is not the last we are going to see of Starfield before it’s release. Along with talking about the team in the video, Todd also outlined a Starfield Direct that will be coming soon.

When is Starfield Direct?

Howard states that “there’s so much that we still have to show you” when mentioning the Starfield Direct coming on June 11th, 2023. This will take place right after a newly announced Xbox Games Showcase on the same day. As many have expressed, a delay isn’t always a bad thing. Due to the absolute overload of games releasing relative to recent years, a delay promising more polish, care, and attention to Starfield might just be what it needs. On the other hand, an absent catalogue of recent games from Bethesda, who was once the hallmark studio for Western RPG’s, can put this delay in a negative light. Players will be able to figure out if the wait and delay was worth it, when Starfield launches on September 6th, 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
