Valheim’s ‘Hearth and Home’ update brings a few new items into the world, including one that will allow you to construct the new Obliterator. If you want to get to crafting this new piece of equipment for your Viking stronghold, you’ll need to obtain some Thunder Stone. This guide will show you how and where to get Thunder Stone in Valheim and everything you need to know about this new item.
Where to get Thunder Stone in Valheim
To obtain Thunder Stone in Valheim, you must visit the Trader in the Black Forest biome and purchase it for 50 Gold Coins.
The Trader, also known as Haldor, can be found in the Black Forest biome. We cannot tell you exactly where he is because his location is unique to every individual world seed. However, a loot bag icon will show up on your map if he’s nearby.

The Thunder Stone, which is “crackling with energy,” is at the bottom of Haldor’s item list, available to pick up for 50 Gold Coins. You can purchase however many of them as you need, as there does not appear to be a limit. Haldor is just flush with these items.
After obtaining the Thunder Stone, you can hop back in your Portal and travel back to your Viking home. Once there, you will have the ability to craft the Obliterator, and you can crush up any item you want in this new gadget. You will also need 8 Iron Ingots and 4 Copper Ingots handy, in addition to the 1 Thunder Stone you picked up.
