Pokemon Unite patch notes – changes, nerfs, and buffs

Pokemon Unite will likely receive many balance changes as the game evolves and becomes more competitive. Pokemon Unite update – August 18, 2021

The server update for the August 18 patch will take place at 7 UTC on Aug. 18, and include shop updates, bug and text fixes, and various Pokemon nerfs and buffs. Full details are below.

Changes are being made to some Pokémon stats and moves to adjust the balance of Unite Battles.

Crustle

  • Stealth Rock: Cooldown reduced and damage increase.
  • Rock Tomb: Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased.

Garchomp

  • Movement speed changed.
  • Bulldoze: Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased.
  • Dragon Rush: Cooldown reduced.

Slowbro

  • Surf: Duration of effects on opposing Pokémon decreased.
  • Scald: Bug Fixes and damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased.

Snorlax

  • Heavy Slam: Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon decreased.
  • Block: Duration of effects on opposing Pokémon decreased.
  • Flail: Move Upgrade
  • Unite Move Power Nap: HP restoration decreased.

Greninja

  • Smokescreen: Move Downgrade, Cooldown lengthened.
  • Water Shuriken: Cooldown reduced. Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased.
  • Double Team: Cooldown reduced.

Wigglytuff

  • Unite Move: Starlight Recital. Bug Fixes

Cinderace

  • Basic Attack: Bug Fixes

Alolan Ninetales

  • Snow Warning: Bug Fixes
  • Aurora Veil: Bug Fixes

Gardevoir

  • Basic Attack: Bug Fixes
  • Psychic: Bug Fixes

Cramorant

  • Hurricane: Bug Fixes

Wild Pokémon

  • Avalugg: Stat Decrease

Battle Items

  • Eject Button: Stat Decreases
  • Goal-Getter: Stat Increases
  • Fluffy Tail: Stat Increases
  • X Attack: Stat Increases

Pokemon Unite update – August 4, 2021

The Pokemon Unite patch will roll out on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, and include several balance changes. Most notably, Cinderaxe, Gengar, Zeraora, and Eldegoss will be receiving a few nerfs, while Charizard, Venusaur, Absol, Talonflame, and Wigglytuff are all on the receiving end of some much-needed buffs. Various other bug fixes and text fixes will also be included, alongside a spectate feature test from August 4 through August 6. Charizard

  • Flamethrower: cooldown reduced and damage increased
  • Fire Punch: damage increased
  • Fire Blast: cooldown reduced and damage increased

Talonflame

  • Acrobatic: damage increased
  • Aeriel Ace: damage increased
  • Fly: damage increased

Venusaur

  • Sludge Bomb: damage increased
  • Petal Dance: move upgrade
  • Solar Beam: cooldown reduced
  • Verdant Anger (Unite move): damage increased

Absol

  • Basic attack: bug fixes
  • Night Slash: damage increased
  • Sucker Punch: damage increased

Wigglytuff

  • Stats: Defense, Sp. Defense, and HP increased
  • Double Slap: damage increased and effects strengthened
  • Sing: effects strengthened
  • Dazzling Gleam: bug fixes

Cinderace

  • Attack: decreased stats
  • Blaze Kick: damage decreased
  • Feint: move downgrade
  • Pyro Ball: damage decreased

Gengar

  • Basic attack: bug fixes
  • Shadow Ball: damage decreased
  • Hex: move downgrade
  • Dream Eater: move upgrade

Zeraora

  • Spark: bug fixes
  • Wild Charge: damage increased and cooldown reduced
  • Plasma Gale: damage decreased

Cramorant

  • Whirlpool: damage decreased
  • Dive: damage increased

Machamp

  • Basic attack: bug fixes
  • Cross Chop: Close Combat: damage increased
  • Close Combat: damage increased

Lucario

  • Power-Up Punch: bug fixes
  • Bone Rush: bug fixes

Greninja

  • Basic attack: bug fixes

Alolan Ninetales

  • Snow Warning: bug fixes

Eldegoss

  • Cotton Guard: cooldown increased, and HP regen decreased
  • Cotton Spore: cooldown decreased, effects strengthened, and the Defense and Sp. Defense increase is strengthened
  • Cotton Cloud Crash (Unite move): HP regen decreased

How do I update Pokemon Unite?

To update Pokemon Unite, restart your Switch and try to launch the game. The update should download automatically, assuming there is one available. You can also manually check for updates by pressing the + button on your controller and scrolling down to software update.
