While opposable toes are what monkeys are primarily known for, some species of primate also possess prehensile tails that can be used to grasp small objects and keep the animal anchored in a tree. Aipom takes this concept to its logical extreme with a full-on hand at the end of its tail. It’s a fascinating little creature, though it’s a bit hard to study due to its mischievous nature. If there were ever a good time to do so, though, it’s tonight, during Pokémon GO’s Aipom Spotlight Hour.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s Tuesday and the Spotlight Hour is upon us once again. The star of tonight’s show is the Long Tail Pokémon, Aipom. From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time, the wilds will be absolutely lousy with Aipom, so it’s a great opportunity to catch them in bulk. I know what you really want to know, though: is it shiny? And the answer is yes! Aipom’s shiny variant is already in the game, and your odds of catching one will be higher during the Spotlight Hour. This will also be a great opportunity to obtain a shiny Ambipom, Aipom’s evolved form, though you’ll need 100 Aipom Candy and a Sinnoh Stone to evolve a shiny Aipom to get one.

Aside from all the monkeys jumping on the bed, the Spotlight Hour will also feature double Stardust per catch. With the Bidoof Breakout event increasing experience yields for all caught Pokémon, not just Bidoofs, you could stand to rake in a lot of Stardust tonight whether you go Aipom hunting or not, especially if you can bolster your gains further by activating a Star Piece at the beginning of the Hour.
