Watch Dogs: Legion is a 2020 open-world action-adventure game that places you in a future where you need to join the Resistance and fight an oppressing system. This game was recently introduced to Steam alongside a couple of other Ubisoft titles.
Since it was introduced to Steam, players naturally wanted to know if they could play this hit action game on their Steam Deck consoles. Read on to discover what we’ve found out.
Can You Play Watch Dogs: Legion on Steam Deck?
The short answer is yes. Even though Watch Dogs: Legion is not officially supported on Steam Deck it will work if you install it through Proton. Proton is a compatibility layer that allows Windows games to be played on Linux and this is kind of a workaround that may Steam Deck players use to play (still) unsupported games.

Watch Dogs: Legion will run pretty smoothly as long as you don’t go higher than 30FPS and use DirectX 12. The game will require around 110 GB of space so make sure you’re ready for that as well. In case you are running your games on Steam Deck via Lutris (a Linux gaming platform) be aware that some users have reported issues with it.
Furthermore, Ubisoft has issued an update for its Ubisoft Connect Launcher that is meant to prevent people from playing its games through Linux and thus on Steam Deck. This could mean that Watch Dogs: Legion and some other games might not work on Steam Deck in the future.
