As a longtime fan of World of Warcraft, seeing each and every new expansion for the game has really been an enticing reason as to why joining the game at that point could be fun. In Dragonflight’s case, the expansion offers players a high-flying dragon-riding experience set in a world similar to that of DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon franchise, with flying reptiles as far as the eye can see.

Unfortunately though, with most expansions for MMO games, though they often can be explored at a player’s first moments in the game that doesn’t mean that they should. In regards to Dragonflight, players should really be around level 60 in order to fully take advantage of all it has to offer.

And while it does auto-level players up to the minimum level required to play it, those players are missing out on learning most, if not all of the fundamentals of how World of Warcraft works as a whole. You’re really just learning the mechanics of that specific expansion and nothing else. This means that a lot of crucial things you need to know about gameplay can be left on the weigh side until you finish the expansion.

So, while World of Warcraft’s Dragonflight expansion most definitely can be new player friendly, we personally wouldn’t say that it’s the best jumping-off point if you want to learn about how World of Warcraft works outside of the expansion. That’s not even mentioning all of the world-building story and lore that backs up Dragonflight from the vanilla experience, as well as some of the other expansions too.

So, now you know whether or not World of Warcraft Dragonflight is new player friendly, and worthy of your time.
