How to Unlock the Resurrection Crown Ability in Cult of the Lamb

Followers are expendable in your Crusade.

If you asked a cult leader what their favorite thing about their position was, they’d probably say having followers who are willing to die for them. In Cult of the Lamb, not only are your followers willing to die for you in the metaphorical sense but in the literal sense as well, assuming you can get a particular ability. Here’s how to unlock the Resurrection Crown ability in Cult of the Lamb.

How to Unlock the Resurrection Crown Ability in Cult of the Lamb

Cult of the Lamb features four main boss fights against the Bishops of the Old Ways: Leshy, Heket, Kallamar, and Shamura. Every time you defeat one of these big bosses, you’ll receive a special collectible item called a Heretic Heart.

These Heretic Hearts can be channeled into the Red Crown of the One Who Waits to unlock new and interesting powers for yourself, including Resurrection. When you unlock the Resurrection Crown ability, then the first time you get yourself killed while out on a Crusade, you’ll instantly pop back to life. The catch is that one of your followers will be sacrificed in your place, so it’s not exactly a get-out-of-death-free card.

To unlock a Crown ability, all you have to do is visit the Altar of your community’s Temple, switch to the Crown Offering tab, and select the upgrade you want. In addition to the Resurrection ability, there are three other abilities you can unlock with Heretic Hearts:

  • The Hunger: Eat a meal once a day for a guaranteed temporary heart every Crusade.
  • Omnipresence: Focus during a Crusade to warp back home.
  • Darkness Within: Get a guaranteed Diseased Heart at the start of a Crusade.

Each of these abilities only costs one Heretic Heart, so you can get all four, but the order you get them in is yours to decide. If your community is still growing, you may want to hold off on Resurrection until you’ve got a surplus of… disposable followers.
