Part of the reason why Fortnite has garnered such a massive following is due to the sheer amount of different ways you can play the game. Now, with the latest Fortnite x Dragon Ball collaboration, new quests have been added as well, one of which requires players to join and win a Versus Battle.
This guide will explain everything you need to know about how to join and win a Versus Battle in Fortnite.
How to Join and Win a Versus Battle in Fortnite
Versus Battles are brand-new to Fortnite and essentially pit you against a rival player in an epic duel. The two players will need to opt into the Versus Battle by interacting with one of the Versus Boards (formerly known as the Bounty Boards). At which they will both be loaded onto the map and given five minutes to defeat the other player.

With the Fortnite x Dragon Ball event now underway, one of the new quests tasks players with two challenges that revolve around the Versus Battle. First, they must join a Versus Battle in two different matches and secondly, they must win a Versus Battle.
To join a Versus Battle in Fortnite, players will need to;
- Find a Versus Board – With the latest crossover event, Bounty Boards have officially been replaced by Versus Boards. Luckily, each of these Versus Boards can be found in the same spot where Bounty Boards had previously been standing. They are all in named and landmark locations across the Fortnite map as well.
- Interact with the Versus Board – Once you’ve reached a Versus Board, the next step is to approach and interact with it. Simple navigate to the thumbs up sign and hit “Accept”.
- Wait for an opponent – Upon interacting with the board, you will be placed into a queue until someone else does the same. At which point you will see that the Versus Battle has been accepted by the other player.
Once you and your opponent have both accepted the match, the battle will commence. You will then need to eliminate them as you would any other bounty contract.
To win a Versus Battle in Fortnite, you must eliminate your opponent before the five minutes is up. If your target is eliminated by another player, then you will only receive a small portion of the rewards.
To give yourself the best chance of winning, I’d recommend working towards one of the new Dragon Ball mythic items. Like the Kamehameha, which is an incredibly powerful bright blue beam of light commonly used by Goku.
