How to identify items in Divinity Original Sin 2

There are two different ways you can identify items in the game. You can either do it yourself or have someone else do it for you.

The easiest way is to get an NPC to do it for you. Certain important NPCs like blacksmiths have a magnifying glass icon to the bottom right of their trade window. You can click on this icon, and identify an item in your inventory in exchange for some gold. It’s important to note not all NPCs can identify things, and if that’s the case, their icon will be red.

Another way to do it is by having points in Loremaster and using an Identifying Glass to do it yourself. This item can be found throughout the world, often inside of houses. “Peer through this closely to analyze and classify equipment; it’s as good as the skill of the one who holds it.”

Each unidentified item will have some text on it, telling you how much Loremaster is required. When you have the Identifying Glass and enough points in Loremaster, you can click on your items and identify them.

Now that you know how to identify items in Divinity Original Sin 2, it’s time to uncover those mysterious items.
