Imagine telling your friends that you’re playing a game and the main character is a potato-wielding vegetable trying to kill aliens. That’s exactly what Brotato is and it is jam-packed with arsenals you can use to shoot down tons of enemies.

One of the items you can collect in Brotato are spuds and you can use those to unlock new characters. If you want more characters in Brotato you’re going to want to get your hands on spuds. In this guide, we’re going to teach you how to get spuds in Brotato and how to use them.

How to Earn Spuds in Brotato?

Spuds are a unique currency used in Brotato that differs from gathering coins. This is a simple gacha mechanic where you can use spuds to unlock various characters. Similar games that use gacha currencies are Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail. If you want to learn how to obtain spuds so you can unlock characters such as Ghost, Lucky, or Renegade here’s what you need to do.

You’re going to want to take out your wallet because the number one way to earn spuds is by spending money. If you don’t want to spend money to unlock character you can also try watching advertisements every day. There are a total of 28 videos you can watch and each one will give you 3 spuds a day. This seems to be the only way to earn spuds in Brotato at the moment.

What Currency is used in Brotato?

Spuds aren’t the only type of currency that is used in Brotato. You can also use gold in order to reroll upgrades and purchase items in the shop. There are a few items that contain gold in them and they are the bag, hunting trophy, and a piggy bank.

When you pick up these items they will give you only gold and they will not offer experience. In order to obtain these different items you will need to defeat enemies and they will drop them. The rarest item, a hunting trophy is a tier 3 item that can either be bought in-game or found in a crate.
