Lanterns are often used as symbols of Chinese myth and holidays, which is why they’re a prominent fixture of Lunar New Celebrations. They don’t usually have much monetary value, but in Roblox Adopt Me, Lanterns are actually quite the important currency. Hope you’ve got a big wallet. Here’s how to get Lanterns in Roblox Adopt Me!

How to get Lanterns in Roblox Adopt Me!

Lanterns are a special currency in Roblox Adopt Me that is only obtainable during a Lunar New Year event. While the Lunar New Year event is running, Lanterns are used to purchase the special Lunar New Year pets in lieu of the usual Bucks. This is presumably a system to ensure that everyone gets a chance during the event to get the pets they want, rather than just saving up all year for five seconds of gratification.

There are two ways you can obtain Lanterns during a Lunar New Year event: participating in the event’s minigames, or just buying them. If you click on the Lantern icon on the top of the screen, next to your usual Bucks tally, you can purchase Lanterns directly using Robux, and by extension real money.

Playing Lantern Hunt

The second, much more accessible means of obtaining Lanterns is a special minigame that runs during the event called Lantern Hunt. Whenever a Lantern Hunt is about to begin, you’ll receive a notification and an offer to warp to the starting line. When the game begins, Lanterns will spawn all over the island, prompting you to run your legs off and collect as many as possible. Whatever Lanterns you grab before time runs out are yours to keep.

Lanterns can be used to purchase the following pets during the Lunar New Year event:

• Amami Rabbit: 250 Lanterns
• Moon Rabbit: 375 Lanterns
• Water Rabbit: 475 Lanterns
• Bear Moon Box: 300 Lanterns, may contain Black Moon Bear, Water Moon Bear, or Lunar Moon Bear

Keep in mind that you can only hold onto your Lanterns for as long as the Lunar New Year event is running. When the event ends on February 2, any Lanterns you’ve collected will expire. Grind up as many Lantern Hunts as you can so you can buy the Lunar New Year pets while they’re around!
