How to get Iron Treads in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Violet:

Iron Treads is a Paradox Pokémon exclusive to Pokémon Violet, meaning it’s much easier to get your hands on in this version of the game than in Pokémon Scarlet. There are a few ways to obtain Iron Treads in Pokémon Violet, but the most popular way is simply battling one and catching it. You’ll be able to catch Iron Treads in Area Zero after you’ve beaten the game, which may seem like a long time to wait, but this Ground/Steel Paradox Pokémon is definitely worth it!

After you’ve beaten the main storyline and are able to travel to Area Zero, you’ll be able to catch all kinds of Paradox Pokémon, including Iron Treads. To catch one, simply travel to Area Zero in The Great Crater of Paldea and explore until you find one wandering around; these Paradox Pokémon spawn everywhere in Area Zero, but you’ll be able to find them most easily at Research Station #4, so try to narrow your search to that area if you’re not having much luck anywhere else.

If you don’t want to have to wait until the very end of the game to get your hands on an Iron Treads, you can always just catch The Quaking Earth Titan. You won’t be able to catch this Iron Treads titan the first time you battle it, but after you’ve battled it once, you can always go back to battle it again. The second time you battle The Quaking Earth Titan, you’ll be able to catch it (this Pokémon is understandably very difficult to catch, so be sure to bring a lot of Poké Balls).

Pokémon Scarlet:

Since Iron Treads is a Violet-exclusive Paradox Pokémon, you won’t be able to go out and catch it in Pokémon Scarlet like you would in Pokémon Violet. However, there are still other ways to obtain this metallic roly-poly in Pokémon Scarlet.

Even though you won’t be able to go out and catch an Iron Treads of your very own, you’ll always be able to trade for one. If you’ve got a friend who has Pokémon Violet, you can always try trading them a Great Tusk (or any other Scarlet-exclusive Paradox Pokémon) for an Iron Treads. If you don’t have any friends with a copy of Pokémon Violet (or don’t have any friends at all), you can always trade for one via the internet!
