Oh yes, the gold camo. The ultimate bragging rights (personally, I ignore the platinum camo, but anyway, that’s just me). A sign of weapon mastery, being able to unlock the gold camo for your favorite weapon is a trip that is worthwhile, albeit pretty intense and time-consuming. But only the ones that don’t give up get to tell their battle glories. Furthermore, if you are the type of player that loves to go boom with your rocket launchers, well, you’re in luck my friend. Here is how to get the gold rocket launcher in Modern Warfare 2.
How to Get Gold Rocket Launcher in Modern Warfare 2
Foremost, the term “rocket launcher” is pretty ambiguous. In Modern Warfare 2, we have 4 rocket launchers: the PILA (unlocked by default), the Strela-P (unlocked at Level 14), the JOKR (unlocked at level 24), and finally, yes, the RPG-7 (unlocked at Level 32). The good thing is that the process to claim the gold camo is basically the same for each one of the rocket launchers. Well, with one exception (we’ll talk about it later). Here is a step-by-step guide on how to get the gold rocket launcher in Modern Warfare 2.
Getting the Golden Camo
- There really is one major normal challenge available for all rocket launchers, and it is unlocked at weapon level 11. So, basically, you will have to grind and grind, and grind again until you reach level 11.
- Once you unlock the challenge, you will have to beat it by achieving 40 kills with each launcher. This will unlock the base camo as well.
- Once you have completed the first challenge, you will unlock the gold challenge, which is the one that is most dear to us. You will need to have 2 kills without dying, 5 times with each launcher. Except for the JOKR, you will need to do it 10 times (hello darkness, my old friend).
- After beating the gold challenge, congratulations! You just unlocked your beautiful golden camo. Enjoy it, my friend, you deserve it.
- As a side note, if you wish to unlock the Platinum camo, you will need to destroy enemy scorestreaks, equipment or vehicles. You need to destroy 10 with the RPG and JOKR, 15 with the PILA, and 25 for the Strela-P.
